idea to improve hot deals forums?

NOT A "HOT DEAL", but a hot idea?? to improve these forums.

I think that makeing it standard practice to have each hot deal thread setup will a poll

0 - yes
1 - no

then we can get a better idea of how hot a deal is based on the opinions of other users

i think most of the time, you can judge the hotness of a deal based on the number of replies...

Revisit the coupon rule. The activity in Hot Deals has been dropping and seems in large part due to the increasing success of a competing Hot Deals forum at another site (a LARGE site). This is especially funny as I seem to remember the LARGE WELL-HEELED site as being founded by an Anandtech member.

Many members now seem to cross-post at both sites. Another option would be to continue as-is and let the Hot Deals forum slowly dwindle down and Anandtech can stay focued on the technology side with the great reviews and active tech forums.

This is not intended to dis Anandtech in any way. This has and continues to be an excellent site that has weathered the dot com ups and downs. Besides, it's hard not to like an early-teen startup that succeeded.
