Ok, so I read this short story a while back in an anthology, but I'm struggling to remember the name of the story or the author. It may be a long shot, but ATOT is the only place that I know I can ask something like this, and it's been bugging me for an hour now.
Summary:
A wine connoisseur comes to a castle/house, where the host challenges him to identify a bottle of wine without looking at it - just by tasting it alone.The guy agrees, but sets the condition that if he wins, the host's daughter must marry him. If he loses, he'll give her a piece of property or something like that. The host persuades his daughter to agree, promising her that he'll never be able to identify the wine correctly, and it would be a nice chunk of change for her to win. The bulk of the story meanders around with this guy narrowing down the range of wines it could be, till finally he correctly identifies it. The host gets flustered, and tries to retract his word, while the wine connoisseur is sitting smugly. The the butler comes in with a piece of his clothing that he found in the wine cellar - proving that he had actually seen the bottle of wine and thus cheated. The story ends with the host rising in a fit of anger and his daughter trying to calm him down.
