Ok I got hit with the damn worm the other day and ended up having to reinstall windows. Well before now my internet was working fine and I went through the normal setup process. Now it's choking.
When it asked how I connect I chose the second option which was not directly, but through a LAN or something I believe. My house is totally wired. We have the cable modem in the master closet with the router in there and ports in each bedroom. Should I have clicked that I directly connect instead?
Another thing is it's limiting the number of things I can download at once. A friend sent me a site to download some in-game vids and it only let me download them 2 at a time. Before the reinstall I could defintely download more than that at once.
It almost seems like some kind of restrictor is in place that lets me only download small amounts of info at a time. Loading anything that has any kind of graphics, like www.espen.com even, takes much longer than a site with pretty much pure text. It's like I'm back to 56k but it's taking even longer.
Spybot was run as well, everything is clean.
Any ideas?
