IE is slooooow to open in XP

Hi!

Since about 3 days ago the IE on my XP pro has been paifully slooooooooow to open. Takes like 20 seconds for a new IE window to open. Everything else looks fine. Where do I look first?

why i just went back to xp. How fast is your hdd ? 54--rpm or 72

Sometimes if your IE cache is full your IE will slow down (also your computer in general). Try clearing out your cache and see if that helps.

What kind of system specs do you have? Do you have any browser add-on software installed (e.g. a pop-up blocker)?

That's what I was thinking too, read this.

One of my desktop didnt have any speed problems at all but than "all of a sudden" things started opening sluggish (most noticably was IE) so I removed the update and now it works fine.
