Its almost exactly like yours, but my ctrl+alt+del doesn't exactly work. It will just restart my cpu after i push it twice, none of that 'not responding window'. You know what! I'm also runnning Black Ice Defender version 2.1cb!! Its a newer version than the Black Ice that I was running about a month ago (before my difficulties), silly me... I thought it was some dumb settings that I changed when i was messing w/ my network settings and updating to 5.5. I'm beginning to think that thats the problem of all my internet woes!! I hope you see this before you do anything drastic w/ your programs. Let me know if Black Ice turns out to be your problems too. Thanks. - I've got Win98-SE , IE 5.5 w/ the update, Black Ice 2.1cb.
Can you describe the crash? Mine just freezes, wont respond, have to do ctrl+alt+del and then sometimes the cursor freezes. Anyway after closing the (not responding) window, it may close all the IE windows. I've also seen it take Black Ice with it. Then when I try to "restart" windows, it pops up as a "not responding and won't let me restart. I then have to press ctrl+alt+del and choose *shut down*. This is what I mean by describing the crash. I tried reinstalling IE 5.5 and it didn't work. I use netscape now for some sites. I'm planning on getting the Windows update that automatically reports bugs... maybe you should too. I hate netscape. If anyone knows how to go back to IE 5, please let us know. I'm on WinME and it came with IE 5.5.
