IE6 webpage display problem!

Hi everyone,

For some strange reason IE6 has a problem loading *SOME* web pages. For example, a page like Tomshardware.com ALMOST loads up but just as the load completes, an error box comes up with "Internet Explorer cannot open Tomshardware.com, Operation aborted". I can see all the graphics and text of the page just before this error box appears. Funny thing is IE opens almost all other pages absolutely fine. And this problem has just recently come up. Any suggestions about what the heck is goin on? THANKS

Mistake #1: Using IE. Mistake #2: Visiting Tom's Hardware.

Seriously though, try installing IE service packs and stuff, or switch to Mozilla Firebird altogether.

Hehe, thanks for the suggestions.

It's just strange because i've never had problems with IE before. Used it before for years. But after a fresh install on this new system and a few weeks of usage, i get these weird errors.

Wow.... I have the exact same problem, but it goes for TomsHardware and AnandTech from time to time. So wierd. I reformatted my computer a month ago too. Did a virus scan and spyware scan ... nothing. Any idea how to refresh install IE?

Start >> Run >>

Regsvr32 urlmon.dll



that cures pages that dont load all the time... can give it a try...

Use at own risk of course... but I have had success at work with this a few dozen times... (every time I've tried it when someone has the problem)

few dozen times. wow those lucky people. I ran it and it said something about being successful, but tomshardware is still owned, but it seems AnandTech is fixed. I guess thats all that matters lol
