Works well.

Two features that are absent are spell check (yes it is 2009 already) and the feature that they took out, automatically reopen the session you were on when you closed it.

It is pretty good so far. I like the ability to search or map just by highlighting a term (although the map in the window function is giving me a 404 type error). And that map/search functionality doesn't appear to work in windows such as this reply window.

The open a closed window function seems useful. I can't count the number of times I've wanted to go back to something that I closed and had to Google it again.

The browse without storing data feature seems great for porn, if it works correctly. No more cookies, no more history lists, etc.

But as they have been doing a lot recently, Microsoft decided that people don't need the top 20% of their screen. First the stupid ribbon in Microsoft Office. Now, a massive chunk of the top screen is filled with junk. First the title bar, then the address bar, then the menu options, then the list of your favorites (automatically updated when you open IE8 so you instantly know if you have email for example), then the tabs. Can't they combine a few of these lines and give us our screen space back? It sucks for people who use shortscreen (oops I mean widescreen) monitors.

Right-click and you can disable the menu bars you don't want to see. To be fair, MS removed the menu bar by default when IE7 came out and most of the users hated the change.

I'm just curious. What is slow about a browser? Are there websites that you go to that are slow in a browser and fast in a different one? Everything is always instantaneous to me. So I just don't see why there is so much chat about speed.

Try Chrome on a site with a lot of Flash. Nothing does Flash faster than Chrome.

I don't know about that. There is a video site I visit and with all browsers, you can not move the video along its progress bar when in full screen, that is unless you have IE. I am not sure what the deal is but it almost seems like IE uses a different version of Flash than all other browsers.

When will they implement spell checking and when you search for words, it will automatically pick them up on the screen or at least bounce to the first one?

Yep, it does not render the quick reply box. I am not sure if IE7 did but I believe IE6 did not.

And as far as resuming the session, it is there but you have to select it from the tools menu each time you start the browser which strinks.

In other news, the latest snapshot of Opera 10 (version 1355) works well and I am using it now, seems to fix the problems I was having with their past two stable releases of Opera 9.6.

Anyone having issues downloading it now. I get to this screen:
http://www.microsoft.com/windo...xplorer/thank-you.aspx

where it says "if your download does not start automatically cllick here" which i do because the download never automatically starts. I then takes me to a page where you select your country/region and then your OS "windows vista 64-bit" and then i get to the same page i was before. I thought it was a problem with firefox so it i tried IE7 and its the same thing.

Found the issue. For anyone curious what the issue was it was kaspersky. Its really really wierd because i don't have KIS (kaspersky internet security) i have just the regular kaspersky antivir. When i paused protection with kaspersky it came through fine. I have no idea why kaspersky would stop it.
