No war is going to happen. YET.
I say yet because the Chinese are smart to not start a war with America. They are slowly building up their arsenal and their military so they can compete with us. In 20 years it could and will probably look much different. The Chinese are going to be capable to go head to head with us on many fronts. Technology is going to be at the forefront and the Chinese are doing everything in their power to make it happen. It's going to take time ad they know this. Still, In the end I seriously doubt that they'd want to fight America.
A lot can happen. Russia could come to the aide of the Chinese. Our economy could falter which would then limit the funding to our military. The Chinese do control much of the earth's rare minerals which we need for our military. In fact, we buy from the Chinese much of their rare minerals. What happens if they stop selling us those minerals? So many things can take place.
