Not a chance I'd vote for Ahhnold. He ran against the Gray Davis's fund raising, claiming he was owned by big money interests, and since he was elected, he's raised more money than Davis ever did.

Schwartzenegger may be a more entertaining personality, but he's proven he's just one more lying, money grabbing politician with no respect for the truth or his own word. :|

Even though his political views as either would be exactly the same? Your decision is based solely on the party with which he's registered?

I agree with the current law; that being a native born American is required. Call me sentimental, but some things are just sacred.

And if he were to do it by some chance, no - I wouldn't vote for him. Substance should be the primary requisite for a leader, not image. I'm not saying Ahnuld doesn't have some interesting policies and ideas, but to me it's really just his film career that he rides on.

He did not get the stem cell bill passed, trust me, I worked on passing it. He jumped on the bandwagon at the very end when it was clear who was going to win. However, he's done a good job running the state, and I would definetly vote for him for Governor again. Then, we'll see about President.

This is just POOR thinking on your part. What the hell do party lines have to do with anything? There are great people on both sides on the line (granted I think there are more on the Democratic side). McCain and Arnold are two Republicans that are more in line with "Democratic ideals" than say Zell Miller, a pyschotic Democrat from Georgia.

No, I'd agree with his political views if he were a democrat and would disagree with those views if he were a republican.

His political views are the reason I'd vote for him, not because of party.

If they stay their course, in a decade or so the Republicans may be reduced to what the Conservative party is in the UK right now - an unelectable joke of a party. Or maybe not.

I agree - these US fundamentalists that voted for Bush are a dying breed...just like Bush's Regime is - a dying breed. They will be put out to pasture and true Democracy run by Democrats (the party with the REAL moral values) will be our freedom leaders once again - not this wave of radical suppressionism that currently occupies our White House.

And Arnold will see the err of his ways, if he doesn't become Bush's whore, that is. Arnold would be a very possible, viable candidate, should he run (and hasn't become Bush's whore).

Well, while I am all in support of stem cell research, I think that bill was a mistake. Not because of any "moral" issues (which, incidentally, there are none: Cells don't have rights!) but because California still isn't in a position to be able to AFFORD to borrow 3 billion more dollars. Just remember this: Bond measures=tax increases on your children and THEIR children. You're selling your descendants into debt and not giving them a choice.

No. For reasons having nothing to do with his politics.
The biggest negative against him is that he is part of the Kennedy Clan.

He is a republican though. Based on his actions he's a centrist because he has both right and left influences in his life. Economically he's sound and socially he is somewhat liberal. I would likely vote for him and laugh at myself for years later for voting for the Terminator as president. On that same note I think he would make a good president because he doesn't care what people think about him, he's not afraid to speak his mind and his politics are in line with my own.

So one year as governor justifies this question. As for the terminator, so many people has he really killed? Aside from his movies. Hell, why not Tony Blair?
