It's not important if we think that Israel will use nukes to defend itself. What matters is "Do the arab countries believe Israel will pop off a few nukes if forced to?" and the answer to that is a resounding YES! Face it, the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction does in fact work. It kept the US and Russia from blowing up the world, has prevented China from attacking Taiwan, keeps India and Pakistan from turning each others desolate, burned-out countries into even more desolate burned-out countries and thus far has prevented the arab fanatics from doing anything too stupid. Israels nuclear might and their national will to use it is the only thing that's kept them alive so far. If Saddam thought for a second that Israel wouldn't nuke his sandbox nation off the map he'd be raining chemical and biological scuds into Tel Aviv every day of the week. The moment any of the arab countries tries any weapon of mass destruction against the Israelis they're signing their own death certificate.

Israel has said repeatedly and numerous times that if they are attacked with enough force to result in the complete destruction of the nation of israel that they will shove a nuke down every oil well in the middle east and set them off (the Israeli nuclear arsenal is pegged at around 260 nukes). They have also said repeatedly that if anyone ever uses a WMD against them there will be a response using nuclear weapons. This is MAD and it only works if you are willing to do it. Yes I believe they are willing to do it and will do exactly as they have said if the cards are played.

As far as the thread goes, unfortunately we have people in this world that advocate hatred above love. These people like AZgamer are almost always fund-a-mental cases and the world would be better off without people like them preaching hatred and lack of acceptance. Unfortunately we can't play to their level and round them all up and shoot them to make the world a better place so it's best just to ignore them.

1) Anyone have the 'Hello, and welcome to last week!' graphic? Israel has been saying that if attacked with WMD from Iraq, they would retaliate 'severely and with great force'. Iraq shot a few missiles Israel's way in Desert Storm, but they were not loaded with WMD and did little damage, either to structures or the population. But if Saddam was attacked again and this time had 'nothing to loose', he could launch an attack on Israel with WMD, which very will maybe provoke an Israeli response.
