The bigger point is that in the U.S. we've significantly curtailed deaths from smoking with extensive regulations. Tobacco corps have moved on to countries that have no regulation as a means to keep their profits up. Which obviously, is simply ignored by a troll.

I suppose that if you're willing to go to the same lengths to be black that transgenders go through then we all could consider you to be black. Start with a full body tattoo to change your skin color, maybe a little facial reconstruction & you can be accepted as black. Go for it.

Don't need tattooing, it can be done with drugs and a tanning bed.
I read about this in a book many years back, I forget the authors name, but the book was titled "Black Like Me". A white fellow gave himself the appearance of being black, and chronicled the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Interesting story about overt and covert racism.
At the time I was a young white lad living in an all white community, and had never been exposed to racism as there wasn't really anyone to be racist against. There wasn't any internet or cable tv, so we couldn't hate remotely either.
An eye opening read for a sheltered kid like myself.

If sex/gender are fluid, if a man can be a woman or vice versa because he/she feels like it, why can't one decide they're a different race? Or a different age? Why is that any different? Can I decide that I am a 70 year old African American and be entitled to social security, scolarships, etc.? If not, how can that be explained while still logically saying a man can be a woman or vice versa, based on their feelings?

Just take a "Warren" DNA test and you can claim to be African American since at some point you had an ancestor that migrated from Africa.

Fuck, the near-constant blind stupidity of this forum.

Where to even start with this dumb subject? First off, the whole dumb premise is couched in a couple of silly notions, and strung together in a half-assed attempt at a 'gotcha', but it's got zero thought behind it.

First off, I think some people operate on the notion that there really is an Affirmative Action ironclad law that must be followed by all of society. I'd wager that, while possibly there are a few gross examples of misuse, the supposed evil side of AA is mostly based on rumors and outright fiction. There just simply isn't any over-reaching 'absolute law of the land' AA that's handing people, en masse stuff they don't deserve based on racial quotas. There may be some outlier examples, but it's not a huge 'problem' even when approaching the subject from that belief.

I personally believe *ACTUAL* forced, iron-clad racial quotas, dictated on-high with the full weight of the law for not complying are a terrible idea- I also don't believe any such thing *ACTUALLY* exists currently.

Which leads to the even dumber idea of equating people's gender identity with a misguided notion of Affirmative Action.

So one can imagine a benefit to an unfairly enforced AA system- WHAT possible gain does anyone believe will happen with allowing people do change their gender ID if that's what they want to do?

Are there masses of transsexuals that are taking jobs they wouldn't otherwise qualify for?

Are there enforced quotas that they benefit from, that say companies have to hire a certain percentage of the transgendered?

Do people that are transgendered get to jump to the front of some line for a benefit, making others have to wait longer?

What's the exact, unfair benefit that anyone is getting out of changing their gender identity?


EVEN if a person is right, biologically, that a man remains biologically a man even if he feels himself a woman- even if you're right: WHAT DOES IT MATTER?

What is the big objection to this that's grounded in any sort of unfairness to someone else? Even if that unfairness has to be mostly imaginary, WHAT is it exactly?

is it the silly bathroom thing? OMG, a biological man will use the same bathroom as my daughter! SO WHAT!!!!?! The same person could sit down at a table next to your daughter, or jog in the park next to her, or lay on a towel on the beach near her when she's barely wearing anything, and be closer to her than they would in a bathroom. Bathrooms aren't SEX rooms, the last anyone rational checked. There's not "sexy naked stuff" going on in most of them.

Is it that the transgendered person might get an ID card with a freakin' X on it where it IDs sex/gender?? Is there some imaginary benefit being taken from someone else by allowing that? Is there some terrible threat to our children?


I don't understand why people give two flying rats if a man feels they are a woman, or a woman feels they are a man.

Seriously, WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH? Why would you equate it so stupidly to AA, which itself is a blown way out of proportion topic?
