If I want to gain weight, should I do cardio?

I'm 6' and I weigh 155lb. I already put on about 7 lbs since I started weightlifting about 3 weeks ago without doing any cardio at all. I have been eating more though. If I did cardio, how would it affect my weight gains?

Cardio will make you lose weight, burn fat, and hone your muscles- I have been in the martial arts for 7/8 years, and weight training is the best way to gain weight.

The cardio is cool IF you increase your protein & clean carb intake. I trust you want to gain only muscle not just 'weight'. Throw in some am cardio and make sure to have a strong meal or MRP soon after that morning cardio workout.

If weigh gain at all cost (maybe you get your body weight in gold coins for your birthday) is your goal, no.

nitrogen oxide?

first of all its nitric oxide...and it doesnt work as well as it is claimed...

and PEOPLE PLZ DO NOT POST ABOUT THINGS YOU DO NOT KNOW!!!!

YES YOU NEED CARDIO
no one needs to explain how cardio helps your health, INCREASES YOUR MATABOLISM, gives you better endurance, stenghtens joints and tendons etc etc etc...

just do not over do it when doing your heavy sets of weight lifting...maintain A high carbohydrate diet if you do not want to lose weight while running and lifting....although as long as you eat before and after lifting so you have the proper nutrients that your body needs to lift and recover...then eat seperately for running you will be fine...you can lose weight (fat) but still gain a normal amount of muscle...

btw that whole blukling up thing that people do when they eat mcdonalds is BS...you need to still eat healthy and have cardio to maintain proper health and strength....yes you need more calories to get maximum gains, but as long as you still take in those calories running at the appropriate times (usually AM) and taking into account the amount of C you are burning you are fine

How old are you? I ask because I was ~140-150 lbs a few years back (I'm 5'11ish). Weightlifting + eating a lot of protein did not help.

However, now I weigh 170lbs, with less protein intake (still workout though, not as much however). I'd say good ole metabolism accounts for 80% of the weight gain for me.

I'm 17 and I have been eating more (about 4-5 small meals throughout the day) but my metabolism is so damn fast. If doing cardio increases metabolism like n00b said, then I'll eat myself up no matter how many bigmacs I eat.
