just installed fluxbox, was horrified by the bare interface, and uninstalled it within 5 minutes. Gnome is infinitely better.

I like to muck around with other stuff, too. Never realy liked KDE stuff though. I think konquerer is a superior file browser, though.

this is how I use my desktop too. xfce4 with 9 desktops.
not more than 2 xterms and an app per desktop.
Tabbed xterming is just like tabbed browsing, once you get used to it, you can't stop

Except that you're bound to one GUI term, I prefer screen because it's terminal agnostic.
