If McCain ran for President on the Democrat ticket, would you vote for him?

Here is a little evidence that I'm not enitrely making this up

and a little more

Now I know this probably won't happen. But I was impressed by him in the 2000 election, and liked him more than Bush. I think if McCain switched to a Democratic ticket, that would be his best chance to be President. He's been veering left for a little bit, but still has great morals and character. I'm pretty sure I myself would vote for him.

I have no idea. I have felt like I have been voting for the lesser of 2 evils when I go to vote. A buddy of mine always writes in crusty the clown for some stupid reason. I mean, why even go?

No. I did vote for him in the 2000 Republican primary though. He has proven to me since then that he is only out for himself and for power. He is to be thanked and respected for his service in the military but I would certainly not vote for him again.

Anyway, I'm surprised no one would vote for him. I like how he doesnt conform to accepted party lines and standards and does what he really feels. It makes me feel like im voting for the man not the party.

Hey Moonbeam! I always liked Quayle too.. although I don't think that is what you're saying .

I would never vote for freedom-eliminating McCain. He's been barking up the same irrelevant trees for about 3 years now: Campaign finance reform! (i.e. violating the 1st Amendment). Gun show loophole reform! (i.e. violating the 2nd Amendment).

I think a misconception of this man is that he is somehow very moderate. Except for campaign finance, he is a true blue conservative. The media who everybody says is liberal loves this guy. He got more soft coverage than Bush ever did in 2000.
He has always been a conservative representative, anti-abortion, pro-guns, pro business over the environment, etc.
Doesn't anyone remember that he was part of the KEATING FIVE? Took money and peddled influence for Lincoln Savings and Loan.
Ended up with a slap on the wrist?

His best hope of running for president is to either sit out the next election in 2004 out and ran again in 2008 no matter what happens or risk his future (a'la Bob Smith of New Hampshire) and run as an indepedent in 2004. .


Either way, he will not get my vote regardless.

What I want to know is how a hero like that could let his advisors stear him so wrongly. He was all over the board, he did not come off as the leader he is. That was really sad.

A lot of people don't realize that McCain's voting record is actually tightly conservative, but the few issues he leans over the aisle on get him the coverage.

The media loves him because campaign finance reform puts all the election power of influence in their hands.

That's pathetic. I still haven't figured out why everyone hates Bush. But I really don't understand why anyone would think if funny to say they prefer Hitler over Bush. Get a life.
