If PHP/MySQL programmers are one in a dozen......

I'm just curious. If a crap load of people know how to make dynamic websites like campusfood, myspace (ugh), etc. etc. etc.... why don't more people do them? Am I missing something?

it's almost always easier to implement a good idea than to come up with one

besides it takes a lot of effort to make a site popular, and there are probably many more failed sites than the successful ones you see

Nah, it's not even the function stage (implied by "works properly") that trips many up. It's coming up with the initial idea and development thereof.

Problem is that many people coming out of school do not have the comprehension to RTFM (developers and customers alike).
