We can already kill theives who are taking property in this country. If that bothers you so much, well, that makes me smile on the inside.

Assuming they have no weapon is a very stupid mistake.

This. Anyone involved in a felonoious activity against persons or property should always be viewed as armed. For that matter, the car itself is and can be used as a weapon should the thief choose to use it to run you or someone else over to get away.

So I vote yes.

No. This thief is already dead. I am letting all future potential car thieves know that the potential risk for trying to steal a car is the loss of their life.

Maybe I should shoot out my tires?

MotionMan

OK, so you believe that stealing a car is a capital offence?

It doesn't and you can't everywhere it depends what state you live in.

It's not an assumption I changed the OP to say that they didn't have a gun and posed no threat.

Why so?

Well no, the thief doesn't value your money, or your property, they've said nothing about your life, unless (i suppose) if your entire life is the car, either is a life support system of some kind or it took your entire like to earn it.

"that vehicle is an extension of my time" so you value your time higher than the criminals life.

We only have so much time neckbeard and how we use our time is our life. You're separating the two to make some sort of point, when that just doesn't make any sense. I don't have infinite life/time, no one does. That shit is stupid. Since life is not infinite, it has a value. I spend that value, in time, on things like working to afford a car. I am using my time, which is an extension of my life, as currency. I very much value this resource as I only have so much of it and it is one I very much treasure above all else. This makes the things I spend my time on very very valuable.

So when a thief decides to take something from me they are saying "the value I have is more than the value you have". Well the thief must obviously think his time/life are more valuable than mine. If not, why would he have chose his actions of forcibly relieving me of my property?

I treat people like they treat me. If they want to take part of my life away, I'll take the whole of theirs.

how can a thief pose no threat? that's a fucking oxymoron. threat of stealing property is still posing a threat. unless you mean threat of bodily harm, in which case, how do they plan on stealing my property? again oxymoron.

Assume it is a car jacking that poses no threat to you or anyone else... also I don't know who this is...

That's like assuming you're in a crowded snake pit full of cobras that pose no threat to you.

A car jacking is when you are in the car and the thief makes you get out so he can steal it. How is the guy going to jack your car without posing a threat to your life? What... he's going to ask politely for you to get out of the car so he can steal it? And you're going to let him?

Let's get back to reality here...

For a guy who is so intent on not harming anyone you sure seem to take particular delight in torturing logic.

List 5-10. Maybe you can change my mind.

MotionMan

Personal possessions are replaceable.
Human life isn't
People change
No one should have the right to end someone else's life
A thief is just like you but down on his luck.

5 for now.

neckbeard, I already explained to you how the car(property) is an extension of my life. If you're just going to ignore that whole spiel and continue on with your bs then I'm done with this thread. Like I said, I will treat them how they want treat me. If they want to take part of my life, I'll take theirs.

There's no assumption, I'm telling you for a fact that in this instance the criminal isn't armed.

Why should we?

MotionMan

Because human life is more valuable than any possession.

then disregard my first reply.

If you are inside your car and someone tries to forcibly enter it, then you have the same rights as if you were defending your home. You can and should assume that person has a deadly weapon and intends to kill you or do great bodily harm that could kill you. This is the definition of a reason to use deadly force.

Hell no, and the cars owner shouldn't even been able to defend his property any more than saying stop. Thats why we pay taxes, to pay the professionals(police) to handle issues like this.

Yes. All of this Yes.

I disagree there.

HAHAHAHA...you are a funny idiot. I am in Texas, you are getting shot if I have a gun and catch you taking anything of mine.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks KK wasn't being serious.

This is where this was just a troll.

Makes no sense.

If they were in a life-threatening situation....let them steal.

If they were in a situation threatening your life....leave them dead.

Agreed.

An extension of your life being taken from you doesn't warrant executing the taker. Particularly if that part of your life is completely replaceable.
