I agree. It was a panel of NY Times testers, three to be exact, and they only tested 10 bottels of vodka.. I will stick with my opinion because I have tasted many Vodka's and am of my opinion that Smirnoff is crap.

Smirnoff is crap. I can't even believe there's argument about this.
It's easy to tell good vodka from bad. If it smells and tastes like rubbing alcohol, it ain't good. Simple as that.
Kind of like with whiskey. If it's thin and a shot makes you want to retch, that ain't good either.

Someone tell me what is the big deal. I use vodka for its lack of taste, so I can add some EtOH to something tasty. If I could get some non-denatured I'd prefer to get chemical grade EtOH, 200 proof until you open the bottle then it drops to 196:laugh:

As for myself, I dont like Smirnoff. I drink usually Polar Ice which is a canadian Grain Vodka. Nice taste to it.

I think Canadian booze is better. I would drink a Kokanee over ANY domestic crap that comes from the states. Also like Rickards.

I guess it is a matter of taste... my best friend is Russian and his entire family prefers Smirnoff to any 'ultra premium marketing campaign' vodkas like Grey Goose (which I don't care for either). They say those vodkas taste like water. His grandfather and I drink pretty frequently together and he's had stuff from all over the world and he prefers the blue label 100 proof smirnoff because 'it burns good...' ; to each their own I suppose.

That being said, I don't particularly care for Smirnoff myself, I love Stolichnaya 100proof (black or gold label or something), Chopin (potato vodka) and Svedka, which is Swedish, tastes slightly better than Absolut and is stupidly cheap for how good it is... it's like 9-10 bucks for a fifth.

Everyone has different tastes, one isn't 'better' than another.

It is 42 Below. They sell it at BevMo. I would avoid the feijoa flavored one, kind of odd tasting, though that might be because I have never heard of/tasted feijoa before.
