if we colonized mars/other planets...

Would there be 'earth years' and 'martian years' or would we have to establish some new method? I mean living on mars w/an earth year would suck b/c the months wouldn't coincide w/any particular season...

There would be Martian Time, moon time, etc. everything relative to each other.

For instance, Mars has a much larger revolution rate and so the days would be longer, and years would be too. got it?

Seems like that would cause problems with coordinating things between planets.

I mean, not that it would be an insurmountable problem, but it would be a PITA.

They would come up with a "standard" time between the two for things that are interdependent. I suspect it would be GMT.

Yup standard and local time.

Seasonaly stuff would be like it is living in the southern hemisphere now, local time will be like any timezone, and GMT will still be the standard. Likely, hours, Minutes, and seconds will still be the same, military time might be adopted as the standard for, say, a 30 hour day.
