.. Had their banner ads be displayed based on what content you have in your email, would you find that too weird? (Ie: you write an email to a friend about a car you want to buy, and an ad for ebay car auctions comes up after you send).

I thought that some search engines did something like that already? Like say you do a search on food, It'll pop a banner up on the results page mentioning food... Maybe it was just coincidence??

I believe that is correct... some search engines place particular ads zoned for certain areas or keywords. That is different that skimming personal emails to do that.

no, woudlnt bother me.. in fact, id rather see ads that pertained to me than stupid crap like punch the monkey on the flashing winner ad.

thats makes sense, i have typed in the keyword "modifed computer cases" on yahoo once and i got a bunch of pop-up adds for sites that have to do with moding and crap.
