The amusing part is that many of the people that even started Hip Hop are well onto their way into a retirement home these days, and I just never saw it improvement much from what it started as myself personally.

Hip Hop isn't actually cutting edge is it even id some people want to fantasize it is.

<shrug> As long as you can appreciate it for what and don't go around claiming it's good as music. If you removed the vocals and listened to just the instrumentals most hip hop songs are at the level of artistry and sophistication that you'd hear on a Playskool toy designed for 2 year olds. Lyrics don't matter much when you suck as a composer and the only real music worth listening to on your album is a sample from another artist who does have talent. Admittedly though hip hop artists aren't the only ones who do the same thing - honestly, the hook to your song is the freakin' theme song from The Munsters?
