Hi all
I just went to Compusa store and grabbed one 50 pk Spindle, I paid 18.75+ 1.43 tax=20.18 After that I looked at a rebate form, I will only get 12.50$ back by sending rebate !!! What the hell! Compusa advertised 75% off of all 16x....
75% off ~ 12.50$ , it means 100% = original price = 16.6666$-----> they charged me 18.75$ !!!!
NO NO, it's not ok at all, I talked to a supervisor of the store. After that I got back 2.13$
hehehe, I am happy now, how about you! Did they do the same thing to you!

NOTE: if I go to Compusa back and forth, I could make some money since they didn't take back my receipt !!!

Hey nguyenminhtung

Fail to see how you can make some money on this. $2.00 and change is not "some" money. Do it
multiple times and you only get back 1 rebate (usually limits rebate/household). So you effectively overpay
for the CDs you buy w/o the rebate.

How did you make money even the first time? You just paid a reduced price for the items. Reduced from
the original price. You didn't "make" money. Making money is a result of some effort on your part. This
could be through the exhortion of labor, loaning of money etc.

Hi, I didn't want to make it clear since it's not cool. ok here is how it work!
they didn't take back my original receipt which charged me 18.75. They just gave me 2.13$ cash. Tomorrow, I could bring it back to a Customer service and return it, get full 20.18$ back, then buy it again, and ask them to pricematch again. You may do like this: buy 4 of them and pricematch it, get 2.13*4 ~ 8$, then reture it....you got some free money, didn't you!

Why don't you just steal like 4 of them and sell them on the street for $20 each and you can buy more crack.

FYI - the Imation MIR clearly states that the rebate cannot exceed the purchase price. Considering that this is a New Rochelle processed rebate, you can guarantee a rejection if you did not pay their "expected price".

I had an HP rebate turned down 'cause the postmark was about 3 days late. Most companies reject rebates for any reason they can. Rebates are like gift certificates. Companies realize and bet on the fact that a good percentage won't bother using them. With rebates they go a step further and decline a small, but decent percentage.

Not that you are making any sense with this whole "money making" scheme, but factor in the cost of gas to get to C-USA, or the managers remembering you(and trust me, they will), this is a pathetic attempt to make less than a buck. :frown:

Hehe it is indeed really sad if you're actually going to do what you said (no doubt about it though).

Actually, there is a trend of increasing rebate failures. Until prison sentences can be handed out to those responsible, there is not much we can do. It's just an outrage to see a CEO laughing his a** off knowing the entire warehouse can be cleared out by offering a "rebate".

Let's see, If you did this to make some money, how much would this come to per hour? Just go to McDonalds and flip burgers, you can make more per hour and be honest also.

Read the ad.

Regular price = $25
$25 - 25% = $18.75 -> What you paid
$18.75 - $12.50 rebate = $6.25 = 75% off of $25.

You could be rich in ten yrs if you keep doing this every single day...................too bad, crapusa will catch on soon before you even make $10
