2. whoever you pick only has knowledge up of things up to the last day s/he was on earth (in other words, you can't ask about an afterlife).

That is, bring myself back to life for 24 hours 5,000 years from now? Because I would very much like to scan my brain into a computer to save my consciousness from the void. And if humans are extinct because we screwed up the planet; at least I'd know I'm not missing much.

My fraternal grandfather, and I would hang out with both he and my father for that day.

My father took care of him for about a year before he passed away, and was going to move in with him (Los Angeles from SF area) so it would be easier to do. My uncle was with him while my father was up here packing his things and my grandfather passed away that night. My father was devastated and I'd like to give them some time to say goodbye.

This. Except for situations where you never had a chance to say goodbye. It would be tough having them back for such a brief time and knowing after those 24 hours they are gone forever, but I think saying goodbye and having closure would help a lot of people who grieve longer than most of us do.

Yeah. My dad's mom wanted more than anything to know she'd be remembered after she was gone. I'd love to bring her back for a day just to show her all the people that still love and think about her more than a decade after her death.

My husband never got to meet her. She was an awesome lady and I'd love to introduce them. It would be special for them both.

Not a super close friend, but I played on a flag football team and we hung out quite a bit over several years. He died in a car crash coming home from his wedding rehearsal dinner. Would bring him back to give a proper goodbye to his then fiancé.
