I like the idea of saving the Library of Alexandria, and of making sure neither Christianity nor Islam ever came to be. However, religious craziness is a part of human nature, and if it hadn't been these particular religions, we would have invented other equally stupid belief systems.

Divert the comet/asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. This planet deserves to have a better dominant species than we turned out to be.

One should not tempt fate. Should I even go back and empty the world trade center on 9/11. Of course it seems like a good idea. But for all that I know, as an example, perhaps we stopped an attempt to sneak a nuclear device into New York because of 9/11. How do I know I won’t kill millions by saving thousands? It seems that even a short trip could be dangerous. Anything of significant consequence could be very dangerous indeed.

ActiveX has an interesting point. For all we know we have dodged a number of bullets because of horrible things that happened in the past. That said, I would go back and make my dick bigger and invest in google. And give myself wizard powers.

The original breaking of the Earth's land masses into the various continents, etc. Or maybe I'd stop the giant asteroid that killed the poor dinosaurs.

Sexual reproduction was a bad move. We could all have lived on the beach, butt ass naked in the waves, immortal.

The possible downside would keep me from doing anything, but I wouldn't mind observing a few things. Oh, and:

exactly. it's not as if the existence of these religions prevented Mormonism, Scientology, the branch Davidians, etc....

I think I'm going to change my answer to this one.

Oh wit...I haven't given an answer.

I'll just go along with this.

the naïveté (and/or the trolling) is strong in this one

The Treaty of Versailles

not to mention WWII, Korea and Vietnam

Your foolishness is even stronger.
Wars only help in a world full of backwards people, which indeed our world has been for a long time, due to religion. If humanity is ever going to move forward as a whole we need to focus on fixing population pressure problems which ultimately contribute to all wars. The minor, piddly advances we see from a good war dont even come close to offsetting all the shit they stir up for the whole planet. Granted, many other problems are not directly related to war. They are related to backwards thinking one of which believes war is inevitable, a theory propagated by religion. Instead of working on the notion that war is inevitable and we should just be grateful for it, we need to move on to new ideas like preventing their causes in the first place. Religion stifles that creative and necessary process.

Granted, you cant have a society full of creative people, that eventually leads to other issues. But overall I'd prefer moving in that direction as opposed to the opposite, which religion encourages.

But that would mean that mammals would never have had the chance to take over. And we would all be speaking Tyranosaurus Rex right now.

FDR not becoming president and allowing the liberal/"progressive" agenda to pervert the constitution. Tell me again how lack of interstate commerce is interstate commerce.....

Steve Jobs never leaving Apple - The guy revolutionizes everything he touches.

Um.....

Preventing Eddie D from giving the 49ers to his sister.
