i remember on dateline, where some people could get by with only 1 hour of sleep at night and be 100% rested. a guy that beat the world record for consecutive days not asleep required just 1 hour a day.

i mean that gives you an extra 8 hours per day in your life for the rest of your life. so much can be done during those times. me i need like 9 hours to be 100%. =(

definitely. There are always more projects to get done than there is time to do them. Unfortunately for some of the things I need daylight to do.

exactamundo!! like the one seinfeld episode where kramer gets limited amount of sleep, but now he has so much time on his hands. but of course he's one of the many that requires more than an hour total sleep per day.

if there was a drug or procedure to the brain where i can just sleep 1-2 hours a day, and wake up fully rested...i'd take it in a heartbeat

If you had 8 more hours in every day, things would just change so that you had more to do. Nothing would change at all. It's like the truth that data will grow to fill available storage space.
So too will work grow to fill available time.

I wish I didn't have to sleep! Although, where would that leave waking up next to someone you love..... ?

I'd ditch sleep in a heart beat...as long as the woman doesn't. That way I can game while she's asleep.

as long as I don't feel tired. The best thing would be to be able to choose to sleep or not.

Hell no! I love sleep and laying in my bed. Plus that extra time will probably end up getting you killed. Going out in the middle of the night to Home Depot to pick up something to work on your late night project and get slammed by a drunk driver.

I'll stick with my 8-10 hours of sleep a day TYVM.

That would only give me about 4-5 extra hours a day......

BTW, 8 hours is NOT optimal. It's supposedly between 6 and 7, closer to 7. And too much sleep leaves you more tired than too little and shortens lifespan more.

Not to mention meal changes. People eat about every 6 hours, skipping a meal of course durring sleep; do we have to invent a new meal time now that everyone is up enough to eat 4 times a day?

Hmm, I'd absolutely choose not to sleep as long as I was still able to that is. If it was like some form of insomnia I wouldn't do it. Everyone would get to a point where they'd just like to lay down and take a nap whether they needed it or not I'd imagine.

Not sleeping? I'd love that as long as I felt rested. One less useless thing to bother with and I wouldn't ever get jet-lag or have problems talking with people in different time zones.
