I have lived, sense I was 8, in deep south Texas (San-Antonio is 4 hours north) and have always wanted to live somewhere that does not so closely resemble hell.

Houston, Austin, Vancouver, New Zealand.

I'm going to be a business professor in a couple of years and my world-visiting experence stops at a road-trip I took in may to LA.

Maybe Vietnam? Cheap stuff, beautiful women, and probably some opportunity for well educated people.

What kind of business can you be involved in down there to give you experience to be a business professor?

Live in Austin, TX. Professor at the McComb's School of Business. Enjoy the scenery, the women, the entertainment, the city.

Oh, if I could live anywhere in the world, and maintain socioeconomic status, I would move to Switzerland.

If I could afford to live there I would pick Maui, at least for a few years till island life drove me nuts.

I don't think the kind of business theory that he's been studying would be appreciated too much in Vietnam.

I heard Austin is really nice. I'd check that out first, then move on if it sucks.

There's a bbq place in Austin called Ruby's. I've nly been there once but the bbq was out of this world.

houston has good food, but pretty much sucks

austin would be top 3 coolest cities in the US if it wasnt so hot 6 months out of the year...

my favorite world city is buenos aires. contemplating a short move there, or kuala lumpur, maybe madrid or hanover.

realistically, as far as permanent settlement, its really tough to top the US.... and colorado

A best friend works at AMD in austin. Temperature is not a concern, I am used to the rio-grande-valley, which means highs in the 100s many months out of the year. Austin is a cool breeze.

This is what my dad says and, according to some research I have been privy to, people who live in SD never leave... a PHD who fails to get tenure will stick-around on a per-year higher just to stay in SD.

New Hampshire. You get a reasonably warm summer, snow in the winter, low taxes, and you're only 1-3 hours from Boston.

fk that.

Low taxes? Maybe if you don't have a house...and warm? Dude, it was 55 degrees and damn near 90% humidity last night. Out of the ten day forecast, we have TWO DAYS when it's not supposed to rain.

Yes, I just got back from Arizona...and I want to go back...

Now if you like winter sports, there you go...but I have to put my toys away for half the year.
