fk that.

Low taxes? Maybe if you don't have a house...and warm? Dude, it was 55 degrees and damn near 90% humidity last night. Out of the ten day forecast, we have TWO DAYS when it's not supposed to rain.

Yes, I just got back from Arizona...and I want to go back...

Now if you like winter sports, there you go...but I have to put my toys away for half the year.

Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing - you need more toys, stat!

I thought about buying a snowmobile, but our winters are not consistent - a couple years back, there wasn't really enough snow for them...I don't want to drop $4k on something I might not even be able to use. I should get into downhill skiing - crosscountry is too much work. I hate to be cold, though. I am living on the wrong side of the country.

Income tax? Sales tax? Compare your taxes against Massachusetts.

As for warm, well, normally, this summer has been pretty poor all over New England.

MA sucks overall.

Last summer was bad also.

The tax-mongering Massachussettsians were bitchslapped by NH, though..link...love it.

Somewhere on the left coast. SD would be first choice because of climate. Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland would be next up.

I really haven't traveled Europe (other than Ireland) so I'm sure there are some places along the Mediterranean that are absolutely incredible as well as NZ/Australia that would meet my "comfortable" climate requirements of no more than 90 and low humidity in the summer, and no less than 30 an limited snow in the winter. And I want mountains and water easily within walking distance or a short drive.

Munich was pretty sweet, although I just visited so I don't know all the intricacies of actually living there. Switzerland too.

If I could maintain my current standard of living... somewhere in southern Spain. It stays a comfortable 70-80F all year, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, and the beaches are awesome.

If I had to pick somewhere in this country it would have to be Sedona, Arizona. I visited there a few years ago and I absolutely loved it.

Vancouver was one of my favorite destinations ever... next to Maui.

I'd like to live in Alaska or Norway. Somewhere near the water. I am an avid fisherman, and I hate warm, humid climates. I also like being alone - just me in a boat and a huge, cold, crystal clear body of water. Sadly this kind of life requires one to be very rich or have inherited a house in a place like that. Me being a dirt poor bum, living in New York City, good luck to me with that...

Anywhere but Vancouver for you. Thanks.

For me, I think I'd like to be living in Provence right now.

You know I haven't really been around enough to say for sure, but I LOVE Queenstown, way down near the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand. I love this country very much so at this stage it would be somewhere here, but it's impossible to say without getting around more.

The Kipling magazine writeup isn't very in-depth. What is awesome about NZ?

I can drive 15 mins east and I'm at an amazing beach, 90 mins north and I'm at a world class vineyard, 45 mins west and I'm at a great ski field or 50 mins south and see incredible cliff faces and native bush. The diversity of landscapes over here within a short road trip is a photographer's wet dream. That's just one of the hundreds of reasons I love NZ.

I've always kind of wanted to visit NZ... maybe some day.

So it's a condensed version of California.
