not a martial art but a self defense system. I go to a Krav Maga gym and the instructors are bad ass.

On youtube there's this guy trained in Krav and BJJ, he's pretty bad ass.

What's the difference? Traditional martial arts seeks to ingrain in it's students attributes of humility, focus and discipline. Check KM does that. Seeks to train hand to hand combat, check. I don't get the difference.

LOL I wonder if they practice with live rounds. I bet just about anyone could pull a trigger faster than it takes him to execute that sweep. Dude seriously don't try this in RL.

You're probably correct, I just link martial arts with set stances, set motions, competitions and awards.

LOL, if anyone tries something they saw on youtube in RL, they have some serious issues. It's a demo video.

Some of these marital arts are very lethal. eg. call for use of throat strikes, eye gouging, etc. Might as well just get a .45 and save on the training.

Or just get this book which is 10X cheaper than a .45 and more effective than 95% of martial arts training in a real life situation:

OP, change the title to UFC fighting match. I was under the impression that it would be a street brawl.

For martial arts probably BJJ, Okinawan Shorin-ryu, and Hapkido (in that order). For real life, any one of those + the dirty dozen and you can quickly dismantle any attacker in a real life self defense scenario where your life is threatened.

Sort of an artificial question because brazilian ju-jitsu, which has been winning all the ufc, is a mixed martial art by history. JKD was also not a classic style, as it evolved from Lee's experimentation with the art.
Clearly the history of UFC has shown that for open hand techniques, grappling is important, as are joint locks. Weapons would certainly not play a role in any approved match as it is impossible to spar openly without serious dangers. (Matioshi Kobu-jitsu is the only formal weapons style that I have run into that teaches weapons the same way as open hand techniques are taught).
As for ancient styles, Aikido and Kung fu are a few of the first to formalize grappling in an attempt to kill or mame.(wrestling styles were always taught only to subdue).
If I had to choose for a ring match UFC style I would mostlikely go for brazilian ju-jitsu, but again that is not an ancient style, and has been modified specifically for sports not self defense.
For self defense, I prefer a mix of Ishenryu, Matioshi Kobu-jitsu, and Aikido, because of the formal teaching style and the bunkai.

lol aikido is ancient? You know the founder was Alive during ww2 and some of his first students are alive today right? BJJ and aikido are roughly the same age.
