No he didn't. If anything he stopped or cut was back on his activism to be a more fulltime husband and father at the time of his death. I also recall that he was working on an album that came out after his death.

The fact that he didn't kill himself, with drugs or by acting violent toward other people who want to kill you, makes him the #1 choice. A lot of the other choices were just asking for their death, and might just kill themselves when they get back.
