value/income investing. remodel. TJX
I wish I bought TJX 10 years ago. It being a 3 year hold, it's been good.
Took me a while to figure out truth. Started investing in 2001, bought PFE. Thus my first lesson. Better learn about valuation. Lesson two, stocks go up and down. Better get some gaureneteed income via higher yields (REITS used to work, now look at banks).
Remodeling is hte biggest scam ever:
On my 3rd primary residence in 5 years. First had some work to do on it ... but it was a start home. Second home was a total remodel as is my current home. Married, my paycheck is the only one and once I buy my 4th home, I'll have no mortgage, but a remodel to do. I expect the next home to be worth $600K or os post remodel. Not bad for no mortgage and age 33 and beign hte only income.
CLIFFS:
1) buy/hold while knowing value/income investing is hte way to go.
2) TJX is one of my favorite holdings in part because it is not very popular.
3) Buy dump, fix it up, sell it. Repeat. Easy way to make money.
