I've either died due to a brain tumor, or my mother is / has been poisoning me. Or I've developed diabeetus, and I don't know.

Something's definitely not right with my brain, and I've been having mini-blackouts for the last few months, and today, my consciousness feels like it's slipping away. I "wake" a few seconds / minutes later, and wonder whether this is going to be my last.

If I do pass, then I'd just like to say, "Thanks for all the posts". This has been my online home for the last 10+ years. Hopefully I haven't pissed too many of you off. That is all.

PS. I know that Jen wasn't feeling well either, and I haven't heard from her for a while now, I'm fearing the worst in her case as well.

Uh, quit posting here and call a damn ER. Consider yourself unable to make rational decisions at this point, and trust those with better judgement.

Dude, if it's a money issue, you can do some cheap tests yourself. Check your blood pressure at the drugstore free, and you can get a disposable blood sugar tester at walmart. $20 gets you a disposable meter and 20 test strips. You don't *need* a lancet, but it makes the process easier for $5. Otherwise, save your pennies and try to get to the doctor. I'd hate to see you go due to something easy to fix.

I'm pushing 300+ (well, way over). I drink about 3-4L of Mt Dew a day, or an entire 12-pack of cans.

I hope you've cut down/off the soda... no judgment here or anything, but dude, that much sugar and empty calories ain't good for ya. Do what everyone else said and get to a doctor

If it's a money issue, it would be worth selling your DC rigs to get this checked.

If you wake up and see this, call 911. They'll check on you even if you can't say anything.

Yeah, still drinking 1 or 2 two-liters of Mt. Dew a day. Although I didn't have all that much yesterday. Was drinking mainly Zevia, a zero-calorie Stevia-sweetened soda.
Oh... sad. We got to be friends. I'll miss her.

Look here, you SOB, go to the ER or DR. We'll hold your hand through your pain but we will NOT tolerate you dying on our watch because you're being a whinny pussy. PM me a # and I'll be glad to talk with you.

Huh. By the time I hit 30, soda was starting to bother my stomach. I really can't do more than a single 20 oz. bottle in a given day. Except for McDonald's Diet Coke, which doesn't seem to give me heartburn. Everything else does though. And forget about pizza.

That said:

Are you trying to kill yourself? That's upwards of 1500 calories a day of sugar.* And it's liquid, so it's basically completely unsatisfying - you're just immediately hungry. 1500 calories a day of peanut butter sandwiches would be far better for you.

*Also about $120/month you could be spending on computer parts. Water is free and tea is really, really cheap.

You're definitely checking all the boxes for diabetes. Go to an urgent care clinic, get stabilized, and pour the Mt. Dew down the sink. Then maybe join overeaters anonymous or something, because you clearly are drinking soda instead of dealing with some shit.

I know you're on disability, and I don't know why, but that shouldn't mean you can't have some kind of moderately happy life. But you can't even have that if you don't take care of yourself.

Please go to the ER immediately, Larry. I care about you too much to just accept that you have resigned yourself to death. If you're on disability as was mentioned in this thread, you should have basic medical coverage, so don't wait!

Dave above, is correct.

4 liters of Mtn Dew has 520 grams of sugar. That's over a fucking pound of sugar! 2080 empty sugar calories.
And you've been doing this how long? I recall you posting in a thread that you have been doing this (drinking Dew), for awhile.

Larry, get to the doctor ASAP and tell him everything. We don't want to be reading a note from one of your friends that
Larry didn't get to doctor.

If you really need a different drink than just water, check out Club Soda, it's basically carbonated water with a slight flavour. Try to avoid stuff that has aspartame or other sugar replacements, but at this point I would not worry so much about that, if you find a drink you like but it has aspartame then go with it for now, but consider switching off that too eventually. There's other chemicals they use to replace sugar too, like Xylethol, I think that one is a bit better for you (and it has an interesting side effect of being really good for your teeth) so maybe try to find something with that. In the end though I would try to go with the Club Soda. The one I get basically only has like a small amount of artificial lemon flavour in it.

You can still have the mountain dew, just try to not exceed 1 can per day, but try to bring it down to like every 2 days.

I was drinking like 5+ pepsi's per day at some point and realized I have to slow down. Worse was when I worked at the hospital, I didn't drink coffee back then but there was a Tim Horton's in the basement, so I'd get a hot chocolate in the morning, sometimes another later in the morning. In the afternoon I'd sometimes have another, and/or a bottle of coke, they did not have pepsi and the cans were almost the same price as the bottles so I'd get a bottle (like the 600ish ml ones). I'd often have donuts on top of that.

I realized this was bad and moving away from there probably helped. I don't have hot chocolate anymore at all, and I'm down to like 1 can of pepsi per day in average. I honestly can't tell you exactly how much weight I lost since I was never that overweight to begin with so never really kept track, but I know at one point I was around 160 and I'm like 145 now. I tend to hover around 140-150. I don't eat the healthiest though, working on that myself. It's not just weight that matters though but overall health. Sugar does so much crap to your body. Especially liquid form. Sugar in food at least takes some time to process but in liquid it goes straight to your blood.

Just quitting the pop alone may actually make a huge difference. The amount of sugar in just 1 can is crazy, let alone a whole 2L bottle. I would start with that.

So, I took a hot shower (hadn't had one in a few days), drank some water, and had a few "Nut Thins", to attempt to stabilize my blood sugar.

Speaking very honestly about myself, I drank an absolute shitload of Mt Dew in my 20's, like easily a 12-pack a day kind of shitload. I blame this directly for a) placing me in a prediabetic state around age 32 which now forces me to very closely monitor my blood sugar levels/food intake daily, despite having basically cut carbohydrates out of my diet completely, and b) having a rather drastic bout of dental issues, resulting in a ton of cavities being filled by the US Taxpayer (military) and getting a ton of funny looks from dentists now.

I say this in all serious, as someone who's walked this road, get the fuck off of any sugared drinks, fake sugar or otherwise. Water, coffee, alcohol if you must, but no fruit juice, no sugar water, no sodas, nothing. The longer it goes on, the worse it will be.

After that, cut as much sugary food as possible. It's harder to remove all sugar/carb related stuff as possible, but cut off the snacky garbage and snacks, eat some meat and vegetables (preferably non-starchy).

I second this. I haven't been laid in two years and no women will give me sex. Am going lightweight insane and im not quite sure how much longer ill be able to post meme pics due to consitent lack of bloodflow to my brain over my constant raging boners.

Health issues are imminent, if i die thank you all for my computer knowhow and witty banter.

This is a serious thread. WTF is wrong with you?

I had a roommate with similar symptoms. He also went through Mt Dew at an alarming rate (and I say this as a fat guy). It wasn't until I took him to the ER because he lost vision in one eye that he started cutting back the caffeine/sugar. As far as I know he hasn't had issues like that since.

Larry needs to stop the soda and drink water. Go to your doctor and get a form for an A1C blood test. If you are diabetic then follow the doctors orders about diet and medicine.

I am diabetic and it's not that hard to follow a diet and take meds and do some exercise.
