I dunno if it's blood-sugar related, or I just desperately need REM sleep, and my body keeps passing out trying to get it. I haven't had all that much sleep the last few days. I did last night (yesterday last night), and I think earlier tonight (watch says it's 5:13am).

Just fixed myself a PB&J, those are supposed to help regulate blood sugar, no?

Thanks for your concern, everyone. I'm going to see about seeing my primary care doctor as soon as I can, I think.

Regulate blood sugar by taking fewer carbs, losing weight, and exercising. Complex carbs are better than simple sugars. IOW, I don't think a pbj is that great.

At this point you're just guessing, and you may not have a sugar issue at all. If you don't go to the doctor, at least test it yourself, and do some learning. Nothing good comes from diabetes, and it only gets worse over time. The good thing is it's very possible to fix yourself by improving your lifestyle, no drugs needed. Bad thing is the problems you describe can be caused by diabetes that's going out of control. Knowledge is power. Find the problem one way or the other, then fix it. You do this shit all the time with computers. Same thing, just a bit more complicated ;^)

I've either died due to a brain tumor, or my mother is / has been poisoning me. Or I've developed diabeetus, and I don't know.

Something's definitely not right with my brain, and I've been having mini-blackouts for the last few months, and today, my consciousness feels like it's slipping away. I "wake" a few seconds / minutes later, and wonder whether this is going to be my last.

Do you have decent health insurance? Are you generally fit and play sports?

Type 2 diabetes isn't all about insulin injections and checking your blood sugar everyday. These days many take one of the many forms of Metformin with great success. I been taking it for a year and it works great and has even helped with losing a few pounds.

I drink diet mountain dew occasional but lately I've been drinking Diet Pepsi because it doesn't contain aspartame. RC cola doesn't either but its almost impossible to find.

Maybe, I do have insurance, but it's the kind that many doctors in my state don't take. I'm sedentary, guzzle Mt. Dew, and I weight 373 lbs.

He may not yet, but he will if he keeps downing a pound of sugar a day.

Knock off the sugar (all of it, no cheating) and you'll drop 50lb in 6mo, 75 in 12. I'd wager $100 on it.

I had the same thing when I started travelling on planes all week for work a few months back, collapsed 3 times in one week with complete blackouts, went to A&E (ER) and was scanned and prodded with tests, apparently it was stress induced.

I too, was thinking something much worse but you can't fuck about with your head man, get it checked out straight away and hope for the best.

You need to see a doctor for your physical symptoms. You need to see a doctor for your mental symptoms.

They are playing on each other in a vicious cycle.

Go get help!

Honestly take up a sport even if its just running. Its far easier to stick to an exercise and diet routine if you need to stay in shape for a sport which you like.

What the fuck does this mean? Either you will or you won't. You said this has been happening the last few months, then think it's because you haven't slept much the last couple days?

OP posts an obvious cry for attention then proceeds to ignore everybody's advice. Is this just a troll thread?

OP, from the other thread about soda, you said you would drink a few liters per day. You HAVE to cut back. I know it is hard because I love them sweet regular carbonated soda too (a can or two per day for me) but you can not go on like that. I am "trying" to cut back to a can or two per week.

Don't just go cold turkey, just cut back slowly and move your body more (walk more, stand up more, move around more) then watch what you eat (what kind of food and drink and portion control). I am doing it right now and believe me, it is not easy but just have to try it because you only have ONE body and if you screw up that body, that would be it.

Just do it one day at a time and if you fall off the wagon, don't give up, climb back on and try again. You did not gain weight overnight and you won't lose weight overnight either. Good luck to you.

Dont think this is a troll thread. This is somebody asking for help but not sure how to interpret the advice, or trying to avoid facing the music due to fear or discomfort or difficulty.

sadly does not seem like he is intent on changing

come on Larry, unless you want to die (and this is a really bad way to go) changing your diet really isn't very difficult considering it can save your life. stop buying soda and stop drinking it. it will become habit and second nature eventually, just the opposite of what it is now

Jesus Christ, add in that you talk to you mom on the phone for like 8 hours a day. See a doctor asap and get your life together.

Larry, i know its hard. I dont like doctors either, and go see them as little as possible. I had a major health incident a few years ago now that almost killed me, and at the time i hadnt seen a doctor or been in a hospital in over a decade.

The ER nurse and doctor both told me if i had come in even 2 or 3 hours later i would have for sure died, no ifs ands or buts i would be dead had i waited even a few hours. I knew i should have went in days sooner, i waited to long and it almost cost me my life. As it was I was admitted for a week and it was touch and go for first few days, the nurse wasnt sure i was going to make it till day 3, doctor was more positive but i could tell he was nervous which is not a good sign but eventually got the major infection i had under control with a battery of IV antibiotics. Being that close to sure death completely changed my outlook on life, and doctors.

I dont want that to happen to you, or worse you wait to long so please go and get checked out as soon as you can physically get there. There are people that can help you.

If you just need someone to talk to feel free to PM me.

Larry,

You are probably are my favorite member. You contribute a lot to the forum and are obviously an intelligent and enlightened guy. The responses to your post pretty much confirm that others share these observations.

It sounds like you have identified that symptoms and perhaps the root causes but just need to take the first step. What works for me is taking a easy, comfortable first step just to get rolling in the right direction.

I would be delighted if you PM's me as well.

No ER in the United States can legally refuse to evaluate and treat you for an emergency medical condition. Your statements have concerned me for the presence of an emergency medical condition. Go to the ER and get help.

Peanut butter, not PBJ. Jelly is solid sugar, and it's the "high glycemic" kind that shocks your system good. (And, like chinese food, leaves you hungry again thirty minutes later.)

Bread varies depending on whether or not it's whole grain (remember "complex carbs?"). The fat in peanut butter slows the sugar absorption a bit, and can maybe mitigate the "simple" carbs in Wonder Bread, but jelly is death in a jar. If you need to have some sweet with your PB, apple or banana slices are basically as far as you should go. (And only probably half a banana.)

Also worth noting that calorically/nutritionally, two slices of bread, a serving of peanut butter, and an apple are basically a complete meal. Plus maybe a cheese stick if you're not trying to lose weight.

Take a look at this list: (Or many other similar lists with the same information.)

http://www.glycemicedge.com/glycemic-index-chart/

And basically don't eat anything over a 10 without a doctor's approval.

Go to an ER or urgent care or something. Your mother is (probably) not trying to kill you.
