If you found a Bank bag with $875,000 in it would you turn it in?

Ever seen the movie "A Simple Plan"? It's a good watch about a guy that found a BUNCH of money.


As for what would I do if I found that much money with no strings attatched? I really do not know, here and now, I say turn it in, put the bills in my hand... I am not sure what I would do.

I would definitely keep it.
I would try to launder as much as possible with my grocery shopping.
Also you might consider a trip to the cayman islands or the bermudas....
lots of nice banks there that don't ask any questions.
Best guess is it fell off a federal bank-transporter... so what? you got your tax-return a little early.

I certainly wouldn't hand it in - just deposit it a bit at a time into my own account.

And it would be easy to "launder the money" either spend it like 100 at a time at various stores (if you're town is big enough) or travel across country and buy stuff for like 2 dollars and pay with hundred dollar bills and keep the change. hehe.

I like the casino idea, however Casino's have cameras everywhere, and if you cash in like 500 bucks at a blackjack table (which isn't uncommon at all) and eventually they find that 500 bucks and trace it to the casino, they may be able to use the tapes to find the person who cashed it in. Depending on how well they keep track of their money boxes and they know what table the 500 came from. It'd be tough though.

Break the bills down (assuming large bills) and deposit it piece by piece in random amounts. Do not break all the bills at once or at the same place. Do not buy anything that requires registration or that can be specifically tracked to you (cars, real estate, buildings, etc).

Buy small knick knacks that you have always wanted. Pay your rent in cash (assuming you rent from someone that has many tenants and the money could easily get mixed up with other cash). Buy your gas with cash. Use it in ways that cannot be traced. You can jsut keep letting your paychecks accumulate in your account.

First thing I would do is talk to a very good lawyer. Attorney-client privilege prevents them from turning you in, and they would know how to work around the law in order to keep it.

I can't say this for sure, but I hope I'd turn it in. If you lost $875K, would you want someone to turn it in, I sure would. A reward would be nice, but not necessary.

If somone lost $875 of clean money, I'm sure others would hear about it. Unless you are currently very rich, you would have a hard time doing anything with the money without others finding out. Then they'll know who the bad guy in the neighbourhood is. YOU!!!
