Title is simple: If you got real rich real quick, what would you do?

First thing I would do is to donate to charity. Not because I want to help anyone, I would want to pay the min taxes possible each year.

Second, play the stock market. I need to invest in something to make sure I have a small-medium river of profit still coming in for that just in case (aka, couch money)

Third, start spending.

There's a property close by I'd like to own. I'd buy that, and give a life time lease($1 per year) to the ballet company that resides there. I'd then start buying adjoining properties, and put them in an agricultural trust. I'd also get a camel.

i never understood this. i can see wanting to donate to charity, but if you are doing it just to save money on taxes, you are still ending up with less money than if you paid taxes.

If you want to pay minimum taxes, then you donate ALL of it to charity. Donating, say, $100,000 to charity does not decrease your tax burden by $100,000. It decreases your taxable income by that amount. The trick is to donate to charities in which they've made you important enough that they throw lavish parties for you and your friends which are disguised as "fund-raisers."

If I suddenly won $5 million or less, I'd probably work for a few more years and then retire early so I could travel. If I won more than $5 million, I'd quit my job ASAP and enjoy life by traveling, relaxing, and indulging my hobbies and trying new ones.
