I've lived in Italy and I hated it. I've backpacked most of western europe so I would love to live in Belgium, the UK, or the Netherlands. Great people and great food.

Hmm.... for someone who claims to love his country so much you don't seem to have any understanding of what the First Amendment is founded upon... You do realize that gives *everyone* the right to believe whatever they wish, even if it is about this country. The Bill of rights was designed to protect its citizens from a tyrannical government, and I believe that is precisely what we have right now. In the opinion of our founding fathers, I am more of a patriot than you are, sir, for standing up to tyranny while you embrace it.

I've been to Costa Rica twice and I love it. There seems to be a burgeoning expat community growing down there. Also, I've seriously considered looking into Portugal. Nice weather, lots of coastline, and if things get rough,you can always haul buns over to the Basque regoin of Spain, where its always nice and peaceful ;>). (There is a growing number of expats in Portugal also)
