If you had a son or daughter what would be the minimal age for them to start dating?

It wouldn't be a set age, per-say. It would be when they prove to me that they're mature enough to handle it.

Dating is acceptable at any age as far as I'm concerned. I mean if 10 year olds start dating it's not going to be the same as 16 year olds dating and definitely less to worry about. I would start to keep my eyes peeled around that 13 - 17 range for anything suspicious, but I'd never stop my kid from dating.

I'd say group hangin out around 16 and dating at 18. Too many predators out there to take advantage of girls.

Once my daughters are 18 they can do whatever they want, but until then I make the decision if I put them in a dangerous situation or not! Probably 16 for my daughter, although if she showed exceptionally maturity and responsibility I might bend that downward some, just as I'd bump it up if she was lacking in those areas.

I will say this, the more you restrict someone the more they are going to go behind your back and even to more things just to rub it in.

Most of the girls I dated in high school were not allow to date and would mention that and make jokes "I am definitely not allowed to do this"

What you have to do is realize part of growing up is sexuality and that's a pretty powerful force, it cannot be turned off. It's in both you and your child's best interest to figure out what works for both of you and if they are wanting to have sex accept it and give them all the information they need to be sure they are making the right choices.

Most kids are going to do the opposite their parents TELL them just to prove the point, however, if you ASK and explain why (saying because I said so is ignorant and your child knows this).

Some kids are having oral sex now at 9 and 10 years old even if it isn't enjoyable, they do it because they hear about it on TV, Radio, websites, etc.

It really depends on where you are from to a large extent (major metropolitan's are the most promiscuous)....but kid's blowing up their neighbor's mailbox has been replaced with them blowing each other.
