Accord, no contest. Because at the source of every traffic hold-up, there's most likely a Camry. Also, I haven't lost my will to live, so no Camry.

I'd get the Camry. Last I drove one (2013 model) it had the quieter interior.
I've owned multiple Accords and in everyone the AC took forever to get cold. I've had one Camry and it got cold right away. Going to be 107 here Monday.
In 2013 we ended up with the Altima.

Accord because every current Toyota model with a redesign is ugly... What the hell they doing with the front and rear lights is not good.

Pretty much drive them both and pick the one you like. Not like you can really choose wrong between the two, the differences are mostly personal preference.

So the Camry has a more comfortable ride?

In my opinion yes I think it does. Soaks up the road nice. Not for everyone. Take both cars out for a nice long test drive. Be sure you like how the car feels. Everyone is different.

Both cars are very different to be honest. But both seem to be very good at what they do best.

I understand why the accord gets lumped with the same connotations as a camry but in my opinion they are really much nicer cars than the camry as far as driving dynamics, well thought out interior, etc.

Probably the Accord. It just seems more polished, sporty and current. If I got a Camry it would definitely be the SE with the slightly firmer suspension. No way I'd buy either over a Mazda 6.

Can't understand the Camry hate, other than it must be a rather young crowd. If you want to be Ricky Racer, neither car is appropriate. Get a sportbike or a hot rod for that, no car should be expected to do everything. The Camry is a great people hauler, which is its mission.

As with nearly all Honda vs. Toyota comparisons, the answer is very simple: If you like to drive, get the Honda; you'll love it. If you don't like to drive, get the Toyota; you'll love it.

The accord. The Camry is total milquetoast. Its hard to imagine a car with less personality. The accord at least has a few moves.

I'd have to drive both, but if I had to buy one of them blind right this second I'd probably get a Camry Hybrid XLE. Can get one loaded for less than the base Accord Hybrid...

Not quite that simple, for instance when I brought my wife home from the hospital, she would have been better off in a Camry or even a taxi than our Accord. That @#$% car seemed to find every bump and rut on the way home. Multipurpose vehicles are full of compromises. When I'm alone in the Accord on a curvy road I like it a lot, in many other circumstances, not so much.

I have a v6 accord. I never drove a camry before but the closest comparison I have is the ES350.

The engine should have similar output but the Accord feels faster for some reason. The ES is a great cruiser. Hits bumps on the road and doesn't even notice them. The Accord feels so much rougher going over any bump in the road. I've gotten used to that by riding a road bike with no suspension though. Now the accord feels smooth.

The main gripe I have with Toyota/Lexus is the lack of feel/feedback/sound, and the fact that it can't turn as well. The Honda has good tight suspension with great turning whereas the Toyota doesn't feel as tight. My car valued at 30k new has much better suspension components compared to that 40k car. I don't think the ES even has sway bars. I can rev the engine on my Honda and get a satisfying sound whereas the Toyota sounds muffled.

If I'm taking a road trip I want the ES350. If I driving by myself for not a huge distance Accord all the way.

 I couldn't agree more. Go drive them both and then make a decision.

They are both economical family sedans. There isn't THAT much difference between them that you'll love one and absolutely hate the other.

<--Very happy Camry and Ducati owner.

This is such a ridiculous statement. I like driving and I like fast/sporty cars and I love my Camry for what it is... a great people hauler and commuter vehicle.

Mazda 6 > Accord > Camry

that is what I was thinking, but he didn't ask about the mazda.

out of OP's two I would likely get the accord, but I would drive both first....

my reasoning, I absolutely hate the way toyota dealers are and how they package/option their vehicles. We have a toyota tundra because they lease out well, but the way that thing is optioned out leaves me scratching my head. they will delete keyless entry, but add in heated side mirrors for example.... or not have intermittent wipers, but give you the additional interior lighting...

Whichever one fits your butt the best. The seats in my 2012 Camry are some of the best I've ever had in a sedan.

I seem to notice a trend in Toyota giving a much more reasonable top gear for highway cruising than Honda. Most Corollas will beat Civics of the same year in economy for this reason, and it applies equally to just about every car in their lineups. It certainly helps to make a car "feel" fast if you don't need to downshift to pass, which is probably why Honda does it.

That said, I'm in the Honda crowd. I like feedback when driving.
