If you had to choose... Would you rather be deaf or blind?

imho sight is just a lot more important than hearing. your vision gives you all sorts of information of the world around you very efficiently.

but of course that is only if you really "had to choose"... i'd rather keep all of my senses. btw gaining a few extra ones wouldn't hurt

Deaf, because it's so much easier to carry on what we term a "normal" life being deaf. You can still speak, since this is theoretically the result of an accident, and learning to lip read would be a lot easier than learning braille, how to get around blind, everything. And I think life can be enjoyed either way, fully, perhaps even opening up areas of ourselves we'd never have known about. So much for suicide.

I would keep my sight. Unless I was Mozart or Beethoven, then I might choose the hearing. How horrible for Beethoven that he didn't have that choice...

wow, that's a tough choice... i think i would choose to go deaf... you can have sign language to simulate communication... or go online, where you don't NEED to hear.... whereas ify ou go blind, there's nothing that can come remotely close to sight...

I would much rather be blind. I can't stand silence. I can't even sleep without music playing. Besides, it's amazing how much you can know about your environment just from the sounds. I think I could get along fairly well without my sight.

i would have to go with deaf, because you can still feel music, so you arent at total loss of it.. and with technology how it is today, it is getting lees and less frequent that you have to be able to hear/talk.

oh yea.. and does anyone know if you would still be able to talk after this "accident", since you knew how before the accident? that would also have some impact on a choice
