If you haven't seen Kill Bill yet, here's what I recommend.

If you haven't seen Kill Bill and are planning to watch the first Vol on DVD, then go watch the second Vol. Here's what I suggest:

1. Watch the first part up till after the fight between Uma and Lucy. Stop it there.
2. Go watch Volume 2.

If you did that, your experience would be sooooo much better, because you'll get a huge shocker when she finally meets up with Bill.

I completely forgot about what you're talking about so it surprised me when I saw Vol 2. I agree with what you're suggesting though.

I saw ONLY the end of vol 1...but I didn't think they'd do it the way they did in vol 2.

I think...it really doesn't matter b/c even tho you know at the end of vol 1...you don't know WHEN in vol 2 it happens.

so...it's not that big of a deal. I was just as shocked anyway...and i think everyone else was too..b/c of the way they "shock" you.

it's funny trying to talk about the movie w/o giving it away.

I agree. That ending was just thrown on to the first one to build anticipation for the 2nd part - it doesn't really belong there, IMO.

hehehe that's just for a greater shock value at the end of kb2....but hinting at it first woulda made u wonder all throughout kb2, but i kinda forgot about it as i watched kb2 heh

Oh. Ok. There must be a reason he chose that name for her character then. Maybe not.

Tip, both Kill Bill 1 and 2 sucked big time, go watch Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction instead.

I'm just making stuff up. I have no idea why he did that.

Tip,
if you liked Pulp Fiction in spite of the unusual Tarantino style, he's right.
But if you liked Pulp Fiction because of the unusual Tarantino style, you will LOVE KB.

And cheapbidder's suggestion is actually quite good. I'm trying to think if there is anything earlier that gives it away, but I can't think of anything.

I'd have to agree with this suggestion (though I'd go back and watch the end of KB1 afterward - that scene is pretty funny IMO). I still really enjoyed KB2 even though it was unsurprising for the most part.

why was eyepatch chick so bent out of shape in KB2 over regretting that the greatest warrior she ever faced was killed before she got a chance to fight her? wasn't she the one who wanted to kill her in her sleep in KB1?

Dead serious. I saw the first one, but didn't see the ending. Friends all saw the ending. When we watched the second volume, I was totally shocked while they didn't feel the same.

Part of a good movie experience is the shocking twists. If they already hinted at the twisted, that takes away the shock.

Um no, me and everyone i know liked Pulp and Resorvoir BECAUS of the unusual Tarantino style and hated KB because of it. How can you say that KB 1 even has a glitch of that style? It has comics, drawn out unrealistic fight sceenes which have more in common with bukkake (the endless squirting) than with action.

KB 1-2 are boring drawn out fight scenes with some cartoon in the middle, hopefully Tarantino will stop smoking crack now and make a good movie again.

Yeah, I watched only Part 2 and I was lost. I under stood what the director was doing in his well known over-the-top scenes. I just wish I could of followed the story more.

Plus the movie theater was over crowded. Couldn't even breathe.

Boring? Why is KB2 number one on the list? You'd think if it was boring, no one would waste their money on the second volume.

Boy, I don't agree at all. KB2 was much more plot-driven than the first movie, but I thought both were brilliant. IMO Reservoir Dogs is wildly overrated, and in many respects I think the KB movies are more interesting than Pulp Fiction (though as a coherent package that is probably his best work).

I just noticed this funny little snippet at the end of the NYT's review of KB2 and it gave me a chuckle:

"Kill Bill Vol. 2" is rated ? no kidding ? R (under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). It has strong language, rampant brutality, emotional and physical swordplay and chop-socky maiming, as well as alcohol consumption to ease the pain.

Ummm, what can I say other than I totally disagree with you.
I loved them both.
V1 was all style with a little story thrown in.
V2 was much more story driven. It filled in the blanks and did a lot of elaboration of the story.
