Infernal Affairs was way better, what are you talking about. The two movies focused on different themes. Infernal Affairs felt like a solid HK cop film. The Departed was just an adaptation made for the mainstream US.

Infernal Affairs was a steaming pile of turd made by some emo film school reject. Had it been edited by Michael Bay, it might have actually been better.

It was awful. I mean seriously...can't people see how obviously flawed that film is? It's like it was edited from random scraps tossed on to the floor and spliced together by a blind and deaf person.

Yeah, Infernal Affairs was so terrible that Martin Scorsese decided to remake it for the US audience, because he often remakes horrible movies like that.

No actually, Infernal Affairs was great. However, The Departed was also good.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was great as the original Swedish version, but I think the US version was also pretty good. I also watched the Swedish sequels, but they were less memorable.

As for Oldboy, I didn't bother watching the US version.

I did not make it through the remake of Dragon Tattoo, not because it was horrible, but because it felt like I had just watched the Swedish films and the remake did not feel different enough to bother finishing.

IMO, the 2011 version was the better movie. I liked the Swedish movie fine, but David Fincher dominates that kind of source material.

I haven't seen The New World, but the Terrence Malick movie New World was damn great, so I'll pretend that counts. Side note, The Departed is really good, but that damn Dropkick Murphys song destroys the scenes it's in and then some.

Yeah, I thought she was really good in Side Effects, so I do plan on revisiting the Fincher film, I just want to be removed form the story for a bit longer so I can watch it relatively fresh.

It was really good. It's actually part 2 of a trilogy (part 1 and 3 have yet to be filmed).

Lot's of twists and things you didn't see coming. The one warehouse scene and the scene where the two bosses take a car ride were true thrillers.

I think most of the bashing is due to people hating subs, I have watch so many foreign films I 'hear' the subtitles in the character's voices.

Nice twists at the end. You expect twists of course, with almost every movie nowadays, but i didnt see that bridge/cliff scene one coming.
