Wrong. Under California Rule 8.104, you have 60 days or 180 days to file an appeal. It's 180 days if nobody serves Notice of Entry or 60 days after service of Notice of Entry. Since as a practical matter, either Epson or the plaintiffs would have made sure to serve Notice of Entry ASAP, we can assume 60 days, but that time doesn't run until after the service and we don't know when that took place.

Of course, if somebody (like a disgruntled class member) appeals, all bets are off.
Now I have to ask, which law firm told you that?

Ugh. Someone or somebody filed another appeal. Gonna take awhile longer.
From the Epson website:

Settlement Update
(January 11, 2007)

Appeals have been filed challenging the Judgment and order granting final approval of the Settlement and application for attorneys? fees. As a result, the distribution of Settlement benefits is on hold until the appeals process is completed.

What? 3 Coupons? Did you get them all mailed to you for this thing or something else? All I got was some stupid letter saying I had to fill in some code after the appeal period. I though t if we chose to go through Epson instead of the law suit, we were going to automatically get an Epson Store coupon instead of waiting forever to see if we get 2 cents.

Did anyone else not receive any communication after sending their forms in?

I selected the cash payout option on the forms I sent in, but I haven't heard a thing. Now I'm wondering if I really am on 'the list' or if it means that I'm S.O.L.

I selected cash payout along with the Epson estore coupons. I haven't receved a thing, email or otherwise. I am not worried. The reason it's taking so long is there was another appeal on Jan 11th and we have to wait awhile longer. Nobody's getting settlements until it's done. I am still waiting on the Newflix settlement. That one has taken longer than this Epson settlement.

I got the $45 coupon's too.

I DIDN'T WANT THAT! I opted for the $25 check, and $20 coupon.

And to top it off, I tried to use the coupon the other day and it said it still isn't valid.
SCAMMERS!

They aren't scamming you. The coupons won't be active until the settlement is done. It is still in the appeal process.

You can tell by looking at the most recent docket entries that all of the appeals are going to be dismissed. I predict that class benefits will start to be distributed in April.

I hope they get this sorted out before the end of June -- I want to use my $45 credit on a scanner. With the rebate, the net cost would be less than $20 for the V100.

Man, I did not enter AnandTech that soon, and I did not know anything about this.

I had 4 Epson printers and one Epson scanner. The regular Printer and the scanner are still in good condition but one bought after Nov 2005. others, all-in-one Epson CX5400 and CX3200 stopped working after using them a year + and a half. I do not have room to store it in my garage and I donated them to the thrift store, excepted one good printer and the scanner. I still have some extra ink cartridges and the receipts, but I do not have the printers with the serial number to claim for the money ... and it is way too late to claim for that .. how sad ...

I called them up today and they just repeated the website - last updated on January 11 Epson Website. I asked about the California Appellate Courts showing the case was completed on March 19 and they didn't have a clue. I asked them if that might have been a separate lawsuit and they said that was a possibility lol I want my $ and store credits.

Updated April 26, 2007!

The "Notice Update" page on the Website has been updated:
The activation date for codes has been set for June 20, 2007. All activation notices will be issued during the first weeks of May 2007. Requests for additional activation notices are no longer available.

So there you have it folks, June 20, 2007 is the activation date.
