had to return my 3 month old Mitusbishi 62" LCD a few weeks ago to COSTCO and got the Toshiba 62HM116 (rebranded 62HM196)...the 62" 1080p dlp display makes my jaw drop every time we turn it on...

can't wait for football season to start...

My sis-in-law just picked up the SXRD 50" last week and said it's absolutely gorgeous.

I wish they were flat (i.e. wall-mountable).....

1080p is great and all, but I don't think there is anyone broadcasting in 1080p yet. THe cable and sat. companies are only sending out a 720p signal. Doubt cable companies will go to 1080p for a while, bandwith issues and all.

Guy at Magnolia/best buy said 1080p is really made for HD DVDs right now.

Of course if I had the money I'd go 1080p, but unless you have the money to blow it might not be worth the extra cost.

I would just get a 50 or 60 inch projection TV, which can be had for just a few hundred now used, and then a nice projector movies, sports events, etc.

I don't feel the need for anything really great for everyday use while watching the news, comedy channels, etc.
