If I was in El Paso I would take a trip to mexico for hookers and blow. Isn't El Paso near the border, or no?
Si It is on the border, you can walk from El Paso to Jaurez

Avoid anywhere in Texas.
I can't wait to someday visit Texas properly, and see as many different areas of the state as possible. Most of the Texas hate usually comes from people who have never been there and buy into the "they give guns to newborns for free" crowd from what I have seen.
If the feds can ever fix the border and illegal immigration problems, Texas will be even better I imagine.
Hit the nail on the head. Most of the people that "hate" Texas have never stepped foot in it. They only hate it because of the political color on a map, not because of the things the state has to offer.
The other group that hates Texas are the ones that have only been to Houston.
And if you do go into Juarez, be sure to have Juanita on your lap. She might slow down the bullets.whatever you do, don't fall in love with a Mexican girl named Felina.
Van Horn > El Paso > Dallas
The thing that got me about El Paso was the endless dumpy sprawl as I drove east toward Carlsbad. Dump and dump after dump.
If Lucy and Ethel had not been working at a chocolate factory but rather at a factory that cranked out dull, soulless, spirit killing neighborhoods and tumbleweedesque shopping centers, Dallas would have been the result. No soul, just an eighty mile wide hunk-o-keep-driving.You must like El Paso for it's easy availability of crack if you think it's better than Dallas.
Van Horn < El Paso < Dallas
I just spent two weeks in Texas. I stand by my ratings above though I could understand why some might put Dallas a touch above El Paso. Midland was pretty nice though the town seemed to have a bit of a road building fetish.
