So I often heard that you should get a trust. What kind of trust? And how do you trust the lawyer?

Also, with the news of that woman winning half a billion and signing the ticket rather than a trust, I'll know that if I were to win it I'd have the trust sign it. But it's so tempting to safe guard my winnings and have my signature on it, but I wouldn't want to be known. My state says you sign the ticket, you are known.
What are all the ramifications that one should know to cash in on a very lucky payday?

Make a publicity plan. In many states, you don't have the option of remaining anonymous if you win the lottery. As soon as you claim the prize, the whole world will know your name. Journalist and TV reporters will come from far and wide and will all want to talk to you. The best approach is to develop a public relations strategy before you claim the prize. Decide what you want to share, when you want to share it, and if you will be your own spokesperson or if you want to have someone else speak on your behalf.

It really pisses me off that this one woman from Masss. I think it was won and went public. While she claimed the prize it's like she had a nonchalant attitude about the whole thing all the while chewing bubble gum. Unreal!

That website the lotter looks interesting. Can anyone vouch for them? It looks like they started in 2002 and many have won using them. My dad talked about buying foreign lotto tickets, this may be my ticket to do just that.

So what I would need is a blind trust. I guess I don't have to worry that much about this until I speak to my team of lawyers, CPA and financial planner.

It's gonna happen. One day sooner or latter. I don't care if it's just 1 million, it's gonna happen. I can take that 1 million and make it grow.

I thoughts states like Mass or NJ there was no way to get around claiming the prize without identifying yourself. Is that true?

You can also do a Claiming trust and a bridge trust for more anonymity. As for trusting the lawyer I would probably go towards a large, well known lawfirm as it seems less likely that they would want to steal your money than Joe Lawyer with a shop in the strip mall

According to the second article.

Keeping a jackpot win a secret is only possible in six American states - Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina. The other 38 states where Powerball tickets are sold, as well as in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, require lottery winners to come forward publicly.

You need to have the trust sign the ticket to stay secret. So a big lawfirm that was mentioned is what I'd seek.

“Under Texas law, a lottery winner cannot remain anonymous, but the winner doesn't have to be an individual. It can be a trust”, Texas Lottery Commission spokeswoman Kelly Cripe said.

Winning a really big lottery (e.g. >$100M) would irrevocably change the lives of everyone in my family, and digesting that change would take a considerable amount of time and best be done outside the limelight of public scrutiny. With that in mind, we would sell our house, cancel our phones, and then cast off for a slow, leisurely around-the-world cruise on the same day that I picked up the check. Hopefully the hubbub will have died down by the time we return to start living whatever we want our new lives to be.

I'd rather buy a nice cabin cruiser and do it myself. But I need some nautical training. I know for one thing, I'd bring a backup of everything. From fire extinguishers, to the Marine radio, GPS, Sat phone, etc. Even pack a gun or two.

That is a really nice yacht. I would get one with another 25~ feet. Who makes this?

I have no idea. I just did a Google image search. But it was listed for sale. I'm sure it's at least 3-5 million. Even if I did win big, I may never even buy something like that. Perhaps a nice cabin cruiser though. I always thought it be fun to fuck in open water. LMAO
