I'm old enough to remember when the crack (that was a typo, but I'll let it stand, I meant to type crap) they're filling the shelves with didn't exist. In fact, they didn't have sugar coated cereals back in the 1950's. Then Kellogg came out with Sugar Frosted Flakes, and then Sugar Pops, and then the flood gates just opened. Before that they had stuff like plain Cheerios (yeah, General Mills), Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies. Unsugared. We used to sprinkle some sugar on top after pouring in milk. I have cut way down on my sugar. That stuff is really bad for you. Of course, almost all of the scores of breakfast cereals filling the aisles today are inundated with refined sugar.
