People are caught ALL THE TIME by doing stupid shit like this. I guarantee more people will be caught for murder because of doing silly things like keeping their smartphone on while doing it or driving their car past automated license plate reading systems, which can then be used to destroy the alibi they faked.
It's going to be increasingly difficult to kill somebody and get away with it in the future. There are just so many damn crumbs we leave when we move around

How do you accidentally do anything on a touch screen in your pocket, unless your hand is in your pocket?
It's a touch screen, not a fingerprint reader. Any number of things can cause false inputs.
Of course, that's why you put in a passcode, even if you're not worried about security.

Some screens are certainly better about it than others. IIRC, it was more a problem with the old resistive screens.
Oh ok. I've had an iPhone 3g, iPhone 4s, galaxy s2, galaxy nexus and now Nexus 4, all of which had good quality touch screens, so that's probably why I haven't had any issues. Still sucks for him that he managed to dial the person he wanted dead. lol I think that qualifies for a truly craptacular day.
