There are definately a few bargains...

Linky

Edit: 02-16 No coupon codes, not many discounts, but for some reason, I see some HOT deals. 8400's with X800 XT's going for a grand, some with 6800 GTO's going for <$800. Worth checking out. FREE SHIPPING ON ALL DIMENSIONS

Edit: 02-10 Coupon dead, hot deals mostly gone. $$ off ONLY on models 3000, 4700, and XPS Gen4. I recommend waiting until the next Hot Deal.

Edit: 02-08 15% off coupon code available now, some good deals to be found. Free 3-5 Day Shipping when you purchase ANY refurbished DellTM DimensionTM desktop priced at $499 or above (before tax).

Edit: 02-05 It appears that Dell is now properly displaying system configurations with either the 256MB 6800 Vanilla or the GT0 video card. Now we know which is which. (this was a problem discussed in this thread)

Edit:
Thanks Lanyap for reporting the 10% off coupon. (NOW DEAD)
Inventory is updated hourly it seems, again thanks, Lanyap reports inventory refresh at 50min after the hour.
Please note these systems GO FAST, very fast. So if you see something that you want, grab it quickly, or someone else will.

Dimension 4550

Be careful of the models you chose. The 4550 is several years old (4550 > 4600 > 4700). I would be a little leary even with a one generation old model because it's not likely to be new PC like the current models have been for most of us.

There is a new 10% off outlet discount coupon that just started today. Check TB or FW. This is the end of Dell's fiscal quarter which usually brings out great deals in Dell's outlet section until the end of the month. Make sure you get free shipping and at least one extra coupon discount. Dell has been dropping new inventory in around 40 minutes after the hour. Not sure if that's true this time. Some people use bots to pickup the cheapest systems so it can be challenging if you are manually refreshing the list. For some reason Dell will start picking up the systems from the inventory list after the main drop and holding them until the next drop.

Here's one I just saw:

Dimension 4700 Micro-Tower: Pentium 4 Processor 520 with HT Technology (2.80GHz, 800 FSB)

No. Basically brand new. Most comes with upgradeable 1yr warranties. I've pulled some 9800 pro's, they were built by ATI, great cards with good samsung chips.

Yeah, about the 4550, would be a good deal to pull the 9800pro and sell separately.

Thanks for the heads up on the 10% off coupon code. But looks like deals have dried up since 3:30 this morning.

If you choose a current model there is a good chance it will be new or never used but it's not guaranteed. We have speculated that the new refurbs were from orders that were cancelled during or after assembly, refused after shipped, or returned without being used (e.g. buyers remorse). Even the obviously used ones have been ok. And as bamacre said these have the same 1 year upgradable warranty as a new one. I have picked up refurb Dells for myself and friends for the past several years. I am rarely dissappointed and most appear to have been new.

The only caveat is that you have to watch the price versus features because the refurb price may not be as good as a current new PC Dell promotion. So check out the latest Dell new PC promotions (especially the ones with free or discounted LCDs) before you just jump into a refurb.

Looks like the big drop time has moved to 50 minutes after the hour.

Yup, 50 minutes alright. A bunch of cheap systems with 9800 pro's just came out. They are great, just need some more ram. I cannot believe people would order/buy a system with a 9800 vid card and only 256mb of system memory.

The worst is the 256mb ones that are 2x 128mb dimms. WTH do I want a 128mb dimm for?

Just assume selling them off for whatever, they still have some value. Then add a couple of 512MB Samsung modules. If anyone buys these for Ebay, I recommend getting them with a full GB, or upgarde them to 1GB, before selling. People buying these are looking for a full GB, and they are buying a Dell because they don't want to build/add parts.

be careful with the systems where it says 6800GTO, they are not GTO's. I ordered a few where when I looked at details and it said GTO and i received normal NU 6800's. A way to tell is that GTO has dual DVI and NU has DVI/VGA/Svideo. I still have to return 3 systems that has normal 6800's in it.

And dell's stupid india customer support DOES NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE AT ALL. It's really hard to get them to understand the difference so I can get them pay for shipping...

No matter what card is in the system, it will say 6800GTO in details when in fact you're gambling. You're better off getting systems with X800 XT or 9800pro's.

Thanks for the heads up. Now that I think it about, I have not seen any listed with Vanilla 6800's. I have seen a few with X850 XT cards, but not cheap.
