It appears that Dell is now properly displaying system configurations with either the 256MB 6800 Vanilla or the GT0 video card.

Quick Question....Did Dell every make an 8400 series dimension with regular DDR? After checking my email, its not listing as DDR2, but regular 400 Mhz DDR. Eh, either way, I'm getting an X800 XT. Woot!

Does dell ship a DVI-VGA adapter on system with a GTO 6800? If not where can one get an adapter with a good price?

Odd - Dell hadn't debited my card, I called the card company to confirm no debit, they then put the card on hold - and next day the charge appeared on my account dated from 3 days previously - and the card co. made some lame excuse. My guess is that some merchants have an "understanding" with the card companies - perhaps it's easy enough, just book the charge as though it occurred before the hold.

However, Dell did give me the promised discount on the GTO, so now all I have to do is see whether they give me the full credit on the return.

There's no difference with the systems listed in HOME and in SMALL BUSINESS, are there?

Seems there are killer deals on systems here...

The ONLY difference between Home and SB Outlet, is that under SB you can view servers, SAN's, etc. No difference in desktops. I've seen some decent deals on servers if one is looking for one.

Well, think about it this way. When there are coupons for these things, there are hundreds if not thousands of people searching, and they release maybe a couple of hundred total systems every hour. There is no set price for any given configuration, the hot deals go fast, very fast. In seconds. Even a slow internet connection could easily cause you to miss a deal. If you see something that looks hot, you need to add it to your cart immediately, then make your decision. Read through this thread a little.

that is very true...when i was looking for a decent system, i would refresh and when i saw something i liked i would add to cart go forward add it again and go back 2 pages to where i was and continue on. I would pick out 3-4 systems and remove them as i saw fit.

Note: i was checking today and i didnt see as many 8700 series pc's and there seems to be none with a 6800 256mb video card... any reason why??

Ok I need to buy a CHEAP 4550/4600/4700 ($499 - 15%) system for someone.

When is the best day and time to check for new listings?

The best is about 45 to 50 minutes after the hour. Keep hitting "submit search" unitl you notice new inventory appearing.

If you are looking for specifics, I would use a filter or two, in order to decrease the amount of systems you are looking through. That may save you some time, as these things tend to go very quickly. However, most people are looking for high-end systems with vid cards and that's one advantage you may have.

I believe they are updated every hour, in fact sometimes 3am (well I guess 2:45am, LOL) is a good time to look. In fact look at what time I started this thread

If it says GTO, it's a GTO, if not, it's a vanilla 6800.

Also, 4700 models have integ NIC.
