The below is quoted from Tallbill's original post. We have a large number of ATOT'ers playing and are dominating the server. We want to dominate more. So if you like taking candy from babies, kicking small cute furry things, and always being a winner - JOIN UP. WE NEED MOAR RECRUITS! IN AD2101 WAR IS BEGINNING!

Register on the Theta server.

Read the game rules before joining. There are IP limitations, please abide by them

Once you start your town there are numerous things to do. Get an academy going to start doing research. Eventually once you get a palace you can build new colonies and once you research Governor you can govern other cities.

To change your starting city name click on Town Hall and then update it at the bottom.

It will take a few days to get up to build an embassy but once you do then you can join the Anandtech alliance.

I'm pretty much a n00b but already have 2 cities and am starting to really get decent output on goods and trade. Post any questions. Also, I and others can provide necessary starter goods for free or easy trade. Don't be afraid to ask when you need something!

Once you create a town, post the Island, town, and ruler information here and then register with our Ikariam forum.

Using the same email address that you have registered on these forums will quicken the registration process

ATOT Ikariam

Lurkers, your time is running very short to create an AT account to join our fun. We don't want to exclude true regulars, but this is a forum member alliance only.

Update

Thanks everyone for putting up with the identity confirmation process that's still being worked out.

If you want to join up, make sure you state in this thread here what you're using for your ATOT Ikariam Forum username that you have already applied for.

That way we know that it's really you that had applied for membership using your name.

ATOT Ikariam Forum:
http://game.dailysum.com

For applications where we do not have a AT member who has claimed the name of the application, it's just going to sit there until you post in this thread claiming it as your own application.

Unless you explicitly state that you have signed up for our forum using a particular username, we will be sending you a PM to confirm that it's really you that has applied to become a member.

We're trying our best to create an AT-only member team.

We are still working out what to do about members who have signed up for an AT account specifically to become a part of this team. If you're a lurker and want to join our team, apply ASAP as it will probably be tougher to get in once we have officially declared our alliance in the game and become more significant

For those of you wondering what this is like, imagine MMO Civilization - thousands of people building empires, doing research, trading goods and looting each other's cities. It's a good time, and we are the best organized and most powerful set of alliances in Theta. We need more players to make our alliances even stronger!

Plus, AT members look out for AT members. So, even if you join the game late, you have no fears of being picked on.
Someone picks on you and we "nuke em back to the stone age".

Disclaimer: The game is v0.2.5

If you do not adapt well to change or PMS at the sight of bugs, this game is not for you. There are plenty of creepy-crawlies in the code.

Sometimes these bugs work in our favor. Sometimes they don't. In any case AT-XX is prepared and constantly adapting to change.

Oddly enough when v025 came out, more than half my wine in all 4 of my colonies disappeared.... wtf? Now all these fuckers are sober and angry.

Anything like this happen to anyone else?

I am here to bear witness to the goodness of the more senior ikariam members from ATOT. By my estimate, at leat 60% of my materiel used was 'borrowed' from Yoyo. and quite a few members sent me starter pack of materiel too.

Use your embassy to apply to AT-NN. Also, join the game.dailysum forums and PM me here on AT when you have done so so your app can be approved.

Basic / dumb question, I know, but do you play essentially in "real time"? I can devote some time to it, but not in big long blocks at a time. So I might be able to spend 30 minutes or an hour at a time.... Should I check it out, or is that a waste then?

You build up a defense and keep your port levels low

There are some AT members who only spend maybe 30m-1hr a day but somehow still remain competitive.

That's fine, you'll just want to make sure things like wine don't run out while you're gone

That's essentially what I did for the first month, plan out your next move, make it happen then come back later to see what your cities are doing .

Yes you would be able to play it. That is basically the best way to play it, you set it and forget it for a half hour then come back and see what happened. It takes a couple minutes to just set things up, whenever you have time.

Check it out. It only take a few minutes at a time to do things (click to build, then come back in an hour, etc.).
Once you get your 3 or 4 colonies up and well established you can spend more and more time attacking people.
Seems like that is all I do lately...

Ok, but can I set something, then ignore it for a day or two and then go back and spend another hour on it, or do I get vaporized by not paying attention during that "off" time?

In the begining the build times are quick so you will want to check in every couple of hours.

Personally I check constantly. The longest I have gone is a Satruday morning to Sunday night when I am out of town.

I think I spend maybe 20 minutes per day on it at this point. Once I get my winery leveled up a bit more, my towns will probably be able to survive on their own for 2-3 days. As it is now, I only have one town that I really need to make sure gets regular wine shipments.

you'll be fine... it is actually better to spend 3 min 10 times compared to 30 min one time.

depends on your style of play. you can definitely set your guys to harvest resources and turtle up and you will be fine. it is VERY EASY to make yourself an unappealing target for enemies.
