I'm playing on Kappa. I let my account go inactive too long in Theta and didn't want to create a new account there (actually, I did, but got bored with it). Kappa's pretty quiet on the war front, which I prefer. I liked some of the fighting in Theta, but now I want to just play it more as a city-building and trading game. I don't play much, but it helps to pass the time at work when times are slow.

I briefly came back to Theta, but I've already got 7 well-built towns, all research completed, nice military, etc. on kappa and am home secretary of my alliance. I only have 5 poorly built towns with little research and military on theta. It would take me weeks to get those towns where I am on kappa, so I've just been keeping my theta towns on vacation for the past month or so. If I had rejoined theta in the first place, then I wouldn't have this dilemma. I was kind of irked for losing my 6 towns from going inactive too long, so that was part of the reason for choosing another server. Really, the only reason I tried to go back to theta is that I have a friend IRL that plays on there. However, our only interaction so far has been to make a cultural goods treaty, so there's really no point in me playing over there. Playing on two servers got very tedious, and it was no longer fun. It's at least somewhat fun to play my ~1300-ranked player on kappa.

We should split up the alliance for awhile, build up massive gold reserves, then recombine back and go completely apeshit on all other major alliances. A world war to put others to shame.

I found my links to the old AT ikariam forum, looks like that is dead (dailysum)?

Also, the scripts worth using are all fucked up/banned now I guess? Not being able to see someone's military score could be interesting..

I have about 2 weeks under my belt on my current Ikariam server (feels like dozens of hours invested already heh) but wouldn't mind starting up another account on theta again and see where it goes

How many players do you guys still have? Should I just sign up and land wherever or try to get a link to land near an AT'er?

Don't know what to tell you. The old servers are dying and they keep opening new ones. If you come to Theta, we could load you down with resources and help you grow faster, but you still have to compete with people that have been here for years. The mines are already upgraded, so you won't have to donate.

It would be a bit more fun to start on a new server where everyone is at the same level, but you'll have to make your own partners/friends
