LOL, I can't believe you guys are still playing this. It was epic and fun at the time, but I'm not touching that bug-ridden thing again.

Wave 1: 50 Mortars, 50 Roflcoters, 250 Robot Chickens, 200 Marksmen. Pillaged for 250,000 gold.
Wave 2: 1 Robot chicken. Pillaged 100,000 gold.
Wave 3: 1 RC. Pillaged 100,000 gold.
Wave 4: 1 RC. Pillaged 100,000 gold.

And so on, until you were out of cargo ships, 13 waves later.
Enemy's gold content: 0
Your army: Funded for another 2 days.


....Oh, nevermind. Your army disappeared while returning, only to teleport back inside your city's walls 3 days later without any gold or loot.

I remember the very last alliance we were tearing down, right as most of us decided to call it quits. THere were a few of us, Blieb, myself, maybe you? in the same area, and this one guy in the other alliance near us. We had coordinated about 6 or 7 separate waves of ships to take out his armada, and the bastard kept moving them around ahead of us, in between each of his 5 towns, and we never could figure out how we kept missing his boats.

He was a good bloke, too. Friendly to chat with, as happy to dodge us as we were trying to find him. He was done with the game, too. Good times.

Yeah I was there pretty far to the end, dropping my 3MM fail army on everyone that I could.

...and yes, that guy is familiar. We seriously sent MILLIONS of points over to him, spent millions in upkeep, and couldn't find the fucker.

I started over the weekend and I'm about to land my second colony thanks to some care packages from Phoenix.

starting so small is actually a fun challenge. right now my only gripes are how long it takes to research. my first go round back in '08 had my capital at a crystal island so my academy was upgraded pretty high early on. the new way to research is great. no more forgetting to switch between military and economy and ending up wasting a bunch of time.

there are a few new "toys" to play with that could make things interesting. sadly slingers only get 5 stones to sling before they resort to a small knife. I doubt there are many slinger armies anymore. I also don't remember phalanx and swordsmen using sulphur.

The world is surprisingly crowded where I'm at, 38:55. however a few are on vacation and a few are AFK. I also checked the theta boards and there doesn't appear to be any action in terms of wars. if ATOT/M4H were to rise again the server could be ripe for the taking.

I haven't needed that yet, that's for town #4. I'd probably buy from Phoenix86 as a sort of repayment for the starting care package, since he's the only one my low level trading post sees as offering sulphur.
